Trestman comes in lost his QB, Best 2 defensive players and has a 34 yr old Backup balling out and we can't score 20 points in any game? Unreal
Well Adam S. just said that no chance Briles coaches Wash next yr and that he would not rule out Mike staying one more yr
Can we all agree that Adam S. Is just Shanny's mouthpiece here? If he said that it means MS told him that. There is zero chance that happens...trying to say otherwise is another attempt to push blame away. "I wanted to come back really, but that mean old stupid Dan Snyder fired me!" |
He deserves to be benched. He has played like crap, acted like a spoiled baby and made a fool of his coach all year. His over blown head needs to be put in check. From what I have seen h is not a franchise QB. There are 32 starting QBs in the world, out of 7 billion people. What's more amazing is there are only ten good ones. I can tell you the ten good ones have never said the stupid things he has said. I lost all respect for him after his last press conference. Shanahan deserves better. I hope Cousins can play next week, and show what he can do.
Matty we found another defender! Room on the unicorn is plentiful but it isn't empty yet. It'd a miracle! |

Yeah he did seem to sort of blame Dan in all of this |
Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
i get the impression that shanny would like to be relieved of his duties but i also feel like he wants to leave it as best he can for the next guy.
the article saying he was prepared to leave before the seattle game but then when rg3 went down (which was a huge blow to the franchise) he didnt want to leave the skins in that condition kinda hits home ... i kinda get that. in his presser he didnt deny he wanted to leave before the game but did deny that he didnt clean out his office. putting rg3 on ice for 3 weeks to guarantee he doesnt get injured and will be 100% healthy and ready for a full offseason with the next coach seems like the best way to pass the baton. i think i would do that as well in his position. he also said he will talk with snyder (and i sure allen) about it. So if rg3 does sit, it will be a group decision for the best interest of the team and next HC. just doing it to stick it to dan seems too childish and petty. i dont think he is that kind of guy. now i do believe he would leak this story bc he was worried he might get canned before the season ended and want to jump the shark and get ahead of bad PR .. which is not cool but at least i can see some logic and motive in that vs just wanting to sit the rg3 to piss people off. he wants to hand this thing off as well as he can imo.
Agree with all this. Shanny can be a lousy coach, average GM and total ahole (he's all three) but still do the right thing here in saving RG from a pointless injury. It's the right thing because if RG took another major injury Shanahans reputation would suffer further with the season already lost. |

Yes, agreed. Schefter always rubbed me wrong. |

For the sake of argument, let's point out that many "heismann trophy winners" have flat out SUCKED when they hit the NFL.. I'm not sure if Griffin is at the point where he sucks, but he is almost there. He is holding the position hostage at this point in the season. I expect he will get one more year as a starter but i'm not sure how they could even guarantee that based on what has went down this year. Hey - us trading our whole futures for a bust is nothing new either... |

Be honest what has Griffin done this year that makes you think he is a franchise QB. He has been the hands down disappointment in the NFL this year. We have been on national TV every week and he has been absolutely horrible. It is time for Cousins. As bad as he ha been, its not his play on the field that has me disgusted in him, it what he does of the field. |
Re: Mike Shanahan was Ready to Leave Washington after 2012 Season
If RG needs to sit due to performance A LOT of guys also need to sit.

Yes, b/c when I was 23, talented, rich and adored, I never faltered or made errors in judgment and always performed at a high-level ... especially when coming back from major injuries. |

Schefter, Graziano, and Sally Jenkins all have a direct connection to Shanahan. |
