Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
I have to agree -- I think it is a mistake not to sign at least one possible starting safety given our current status. Not saying we had to break the bank for Byrd (in fact, I am glad we didn't), but there were others (we could have afforded Mike Mitchell, for example), and it doesn't seem like there's much FA safety talent left.
As stated multiple times in multiple threads already, it is a two way street. Players have to WANT to come here too. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
paying 5mill+ for a safety is kind of a waste when he might be a product of carolina's front seven.
we may just draft there, no need to panic yet. and we're actively looking for a DT, DE, and CB right now, it'd be hard to sign them and give a safety a jumbo deal. I imagine a FS/ILB will be two of our top three picks. and i'd bet the other one will be on a DE or OG. |

I don't disagree, although I would be curious to see reports about efforts we made that were rebuffed (if any). |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
BTW, does anyone know anything about TJax? Is there any prospect that he will be reinstated, or is the guy done? It seems crazy that he'd be in limbo for so long -- it seems to me that there should be a Y/N decision on the reinstatement request. If the answer is N, then he (and we) can move on. But regardless of the infraction, it seems unfair to let him twist in the wind indefinitely.

I thought someone reported he missed several drug test while he's been suspended that's why he hasn't been reinstated. |

There was definitely interest in Mitchell, he was one of the first calls made once the legal tampering period opened. Perhaps he just preferred going to the Steelers, maybe the $$ was a little better, maybe both. |

Cooley just said on the 5/25 offer for Mitchell "I think that (the #Redskins) were relatively close." Feels Mitchell wanted #Steelers more |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Derelle Revis anyone? Just released by
Bucs. I believe we'd have the money to sign him... |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread

If that is true, what a bonehead. |

Like I said, I think someone posted that here. |

Nevermind the mixed reviews of him last season, which was his best, Twitter said he was a priority so we HAVE TO HAVE HIM! Anyways, as long as the position is addressed with someone other than/better than Merriweather or Doughty then I'm fine trusting the process. As for T. Jackson, why are people excited about him? Hasn't seen an NFL regular season snap since 2011. Probably a wine cooler away from a full lifetime ban. Are we THAT desperate for someone else to play safety? |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Yes, we are.
But I'm with you, I don't ever expect to see him suit up for us. |
