Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders
Cowboys playing DC today ( district commanders) .. just saying there can be other ways to refer to team ..
I don't really care about the shorten name in itself, I just want ways to cheer this team. Liking the name or not is subjective, I'm not arguing that. I'm just in the position of not being excited by this name one bit, and asking for ways to see myself cheering for them. One thing I've always liked in sports is the connections it creates between fans, whole stadium chanting as one, people in bars shouting and chanting the same things etc... I thought our fight song was really great... So I need things like that to get on board with this new identity, and right now I don't have much.

Hogs Redwolves 3 names that are all way better than Commanders and would have had a connection to our past while still being a fresh start. How I feel about Dan and how he feels about us fans...
You really think Washington Pigskins is better than Commanders? Also how does a Wolf have connection to our past other than it being Native American imagery? We are thinking way too much into this name thing guys. Its a name, all that matters is wins and losses |
I like the black a lot. The Commanders logo on the upper corner of the chest looks like a name tag on a military uniform. Nice touch.
The burgundy jersey looks good but have never liked us in the burgundy on burgundy pants look. It’s too much. They need to find a way for white pants to work with the burgundy jersey. I would love the crest if they fixed the years. What’s stopping me from getting a crest hoodie is the laughs I’ll get from Eagles fans around here about the wrong dates. There are only so many people I’m willing to punch in the face in one day.
I have seen scientific evidence that 99.9% of Eagles fans are bad at math |

I don't know of any team that has a name remotely close. Redwolves is what most fans wanted, it sounds close to our previous name, wolves are bad-fucking-ass, and they have a link to native Americans. Anyways, this is my last post about the name itself. It is what it is. By the time the season starts I'll be used to it. I hope they tweak the crest and uniforms. I don't like the white ring, even if the years are fixed. I'd remove it altogether. The home jersey is fine with different pants. The road and alternate uniforms are just ugly as fuck imo. Those could use a lot of tweaks, and fingers crossed they look way better on actual players on the field. |

Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders
The more I see the burgundy helmets, the more I fall in love. Really wish they went Matte gray/black with the black helmets though.

They looked into wolves, it just wasn't going to work |
Re: Welcome your Washington Commanders
They also seem to have gone pretty far with another fan-favorite "DCFC" which IMO is a terrible name.
