Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions
21-20 Redskins. Even matchup with the difference being J. Campbell having an efficient day but he will have at least 1 fumble from his huge throwing motion and jason taylor's speed. Our season relies squarely on the back of our O-Line. Come on Bugel do this for us resilient Skins fans

Personally, I am offended that anyone would claim that the valued members of this forum are anything BUT gentlemen. All one has to do is browse the SHFT and it's obvious that this is a classy, high-brow group.
That was the first thing that came to my mind but it's not even worth it at this point. |
Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions
I agree. If they have a back going for over a hundred yards, why would Green be passing so much to get three picks?
Because they will be chasing us most of the game.
I predicted earlier this thread that Campbell would throw two first quarter TD passes. Thus the Skins go up 14-0 or 14-3 or something. No coodinator is going to stop running the ball in the first half trailing by 2 possessions. As they get closer and time runs short, the run will continue to be used sporatically as weapon against us. I can easily see Brown averaging 5 ypc against our front seven. With such a weak passing game though, its conceivable to think if we can pick him off once in the first, we can probably pick him twice late in a close game. w/e just a prediction that makes sense to me. All predictions are meaningless anyway. |

It looks like he's shortened up his motion quite a bit since last year. I don't think his motion will be as much of an issue. |
Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions
i would like to see a 280-6 ripping of the Phins.
I expect a 21-13 victory with Campell finding Cooley once and Moss twice. |
Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions
Tripp, I know you put a lot of thought into your posts but do you really think RB gets a 100 behind that o-line? Calling them patchwork is a compliment. Also... Keep in mind that if we can get up early it's going to be really hard for them to stick to pounding away on the ground.
Otherwise, I wouldn't be all that shocked to see Campbell get picked, but I hope not more than once. I'd also expect to see more receiving yards out of Portis on check downs and releases. One thing I'm going to be very interested in seeing is how we handle a lead, ass-uming we get one early. I expect us to get really conservative and milk Portis and Betts for all their worth but I would like to see us stay aggressive and balanced.
Ronnie will have over 100 all purpose yards against you, doesnt matter if its running or catching. He is just as good at catching the ball as he is running. This will be a close game but Ronnie will have a good game. Redskins are no better or worse than the Dolphins IMO This will be a good test for both Teams.. |
Individual player time:
Campbell: 15-28, 189 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs Portis: 17 carries, 59 yards; 1 reception, 2 yards Betts: 11 carries, 45 yards; 4 receptions, 19 yards Moss: 6 receptions, 52 yards, 1 TD Cooley: 5 receptions, 42 yards 1 TD Randle El: 3 receptions, 24 yards; 1 rush, 7 yards Thrash: 2 receptions, 28 yards Lloyd: 2 receptions, 22 yards Rogers picks Green twice, Prioleau gets him once. Ronnie Brown has 100+ yards on the ground against us. Skins win by 4.
I disagree with the bold for these reasons: 2 int: The Fins secondary only picked off 5 interceptions last year even with a good pass rush. Green throws 3 interceptions: When was the last time Green threw 3 interceptions? He's only done it 3 times since 2000 and only once since 2001. Ronnie: he'll get 100 yards but it will be a combination of runs and catches. Skins by 4? It will be a close game, but I give it to the Skins only because of the home field advantage. If this were in Miami I would be giving it to the Dolphins. |

Re: Redskins vs. Dolphins predictions
The key for us on this game is the defense. I believe the defense will have to win this game for us. whoever wins the turnover battle will win. Not to take anything away from our offense, its that the Fins have a great defense. Samuels has his work cut out for him going against Jason taylor. The fins offense should be no contest for our defense. This is gonna be a game like the Chicago opener two years ago.

[/sarcasm] Personally, I think this will be a defensive battle, with a score somewhere along the lines of 13-10. Either team could end up winning, so I'm not gonna pick which side scores which. And for all of you Dolphin fans thinking we're gonna look the same on defense as we did last year, you've got something coming.
Thats fine... Same goes for our offense. One word... Mularkey. Addition by subtraction... |

How about the fact that he has averaged 4.3ypc during he 2 years, despite being behind one of the worst offensive lines in football. Just to put it in perspective, that is higher than Portis' ypc in Washington(4.0ypc)... with your talented oline. I'm no saying that Ronnie is better than Portis... but that puts it in a little perspective. And the biggest bust in that draft?!? Um... do you even realize who was in that draft? Let me list you the top 10 picks: 1. Alex Smith 2. Ronnie Brown 3. Braylon Edwards 4. Cedric Benson 5. Cadillac Williams 6. Pacman Jones 7. Troy Williamson 8. Antrel Rolle 9. Carlos Rogers 10. Mike Williams And he is the biggest bust?!? LOL! EVEN if he was actually a bust, which is rediculous, he is better than all of those players. There are few players in that draft that have panned out better than Ronnie. Merriman is one (Who went at 12), you could make an arguement for Ware (but I would disagree), and Frank Gore (Who didnt go till Round 3). I liked Rogers a lot before the draft (ahead of Rolle and Pacman)... and am still a fan of his (I loved that Auburn team. They got robbed of a National Title)... but I would take Ronnie over him all day. And about "dreaming" about Ronnie having 100 all purpose yards... just so you realize... Ronnie averaged 98 all purpose yards per game last year. And he was basically ignored by our offensive cordinator(Mularkey). He is going to get more touches with Cameron calling the plays. Especially receiving... I am not saying that he will have 100 all purpose yards... but the prediction isnt off base. But hey, stats and facts are confusing. You are probably better off to continue to make baseless comments and opinions with no real substance or reasoning. |
