Re: It's Over: Cutler Going to Chicago
Am I missing something or was the talk about the Skins going after Cutler just a rumor and is there a link that shows for FACT the Skins wanted him. We all know if Snyder wants his man he gets him so what evidence is their we wanted Cutler.
It's pretty well established it was much more than just a rumor. Most of the league guys in the know like Peter King, John Clayton, etc. have confirmed that it was basically the Skins, Bucs, and Bears in serious running for Cutler. |
Re: It's Over: Cutler Going to Chicago
According to Peter King our offer really wasn't the issue, McDaniels simply preferred Orton to run his offense so once that was decided other offers really didn't matter.
Interesting. How should that make us feel about Campbell? Josh McDaniels, who coached Tom Brady and Matt Cassel, thinks Orton is a better QB than Campbell. The Skins called around, and no one would even give us a 2nd rounder for Campbell. Matt Schuabb was worth two 2nd rounders, for goodness sakes! If professionals (owners, coaches, and GMs) who dont wear B&G glasses dont view Campbell as being better than Kyle Orton or worth a 2nd rounder, that tells us alot about the kind of QB we have. That said, Campbell has displayed alot of class in all this. The unreasonable part of me is hoping he lights it up this year and tells Snyder to screw off when they try to sign him to an extension next year. |
Re: It's Over: Cutler Going to Chicago
Orton may not even start over Chris Simms

I think it's just a matter of him thinking Orton is a better fit for his offense. |
Re: It's Over: Cutler Going to Chicago
If JC’s latest quotes are accurate, he speaks of his trust in Zorn on several occasions. What struck me the most was that he never mentioned Snyder or Ceratto in a sentence containing the word “trust” or “honest[y]” or people that “mattered” to him. I believe ownership and management have a major bridge to repair in regaining the respect and TRUST of JC.

Yeah good point. If I had to bet I would give the slight edge to Orton though. |
Re: It's Over: Cutler Going to Chicago
I wonder if Synder left a gallon of vanilla ice cream outside of Campbells locker this morning.
I hope all you fairweather, flaky, cowboy loving, Jason Campbell(solid NFL QB) bashing/hating, so called competative football fans feel stupid. Listening to Espn sportcenter jerks and idiots gets you know where! This should be a lesson to you. Watch and love Redskin football and don't jump on every reality show, soap opera you see on TV. There is enough groupies in the world! Redskins aren't drama groupies! We are pro football minds and men like Jason Campbell! I hope all you Jay Cutler groupies jump on the Bears bandwagon and eat a fat one!
YEAH!! And while we're at it, you guys better apologize for everything that you've ever even thought about Lavar, Deion, Bruce, etc!!! EFFIN COWBOYS FANS! |
Re: It's Over: Cutler Going to Chicago
Yeah I agree. I don't see this being a long term issue at all. JC seems well equiped to handle this and he's shown nothing but class through all of it. I anticipate he will come to Redskins Park and work his butt off to get ready for this season, if anything this will motivate him even more.
Agreed, even when Campbell's name was involved in trade talks and everyone called us the front runners, Campbell was at Redskins park working out. I know that interviews and character doesn't win games alone, but he couldn't have handled this situation any better, at least publicly. |

I think it's just a matter of him thinking Orton is a better fit for his offense.
ortons a horrible qb - he's not good for any system. if the excuse for campbell that he has had a bad offensive line is legit -no way anyone takes orton over campbell. ortons sucked it up behind a dominant line for years. even if you hold to that argument, then how do you respond to the fact that no one thought campbell was worth a 2nd rounder? campbells not that good. even his team mates in trying to defend him admitted that by saying the constant system changes were 'keeping him from being good.' what's it going to take for people to realize campbell is not that good of a qb? |

Re: It's Over: Cutler Going to Chicago
I've only heard of one team being contacted about trading JC for a 2nd round pick. And that hasn't even been validated as far as I know. Where's all this shopping around talk coming from?
Help me out here BHA. One official from another team said he got a call. Where did you see he was shopped around to the whole league? |
