He didn't exactly inherit Darrell Green but he came two years later.
That's what I thought you would say. Marty inherited a decent team with the exception of QB. |

The team Marty inherited from Norv Turner finished with the exact same record Marty did, 8-8. |
Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
Marty is no where near the Head Coach Joe Gibbs is.
End of discussion. Let's get back to Shanahan. |

And he didn't die as a result of us mentioning him in this 19 page Shannahan thread..........Or did he? |
With Allen on board, I suspect Bill Muir might be a possibility for the coaching staff as well. He's in KC right now.
We shall see
he was with tb right? |
Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
How bout this one...
Joe Gibbs becomes Redskins CZAR, Shanny is Headcoach, Shottenheimer is D coordinator. Gruden is offensive motivation coach. Cowher is defensive motivation coach Zorn is hired as a preseason Qback pad thrower |
Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
But Who?? Who could it be? Gruden?
I just seriously had the worse thought ever.....Snyder brings back Gibbs for a 3rd coaching stint....
Gibbs will not be back as anything other than a part time gig I don't think. |
Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
Good guesses. Might add Billick to that list. Wouldn't totally disregard Cowher.
But I think if it's not Shanahan. You might look at some other choices such as Shanahan's son, Marty's son, Mike Zimmer, and Leslie Frazier. But at this point we're getting into like Plan J
Is Billick still a gut feeling to you? I definitely would not mind that. What about Cowher? Seems like there's been NO talk of him. The whole expect a second big news out of Redskins Park this week in a way makes me think that we didn't land something that we were supposed to... but I'm not so sure that it was Shanahan, I'm suspecting Doug Williams. Either way it makes more sense to wait for the season to end. |
Mysterious candidate? Please be Cowher as head coach and Grimm as OC.
I am still waiting on an explanation of why Grimm should be anything more than a line coach, especially considering his two lines have been nothing. |

Re: Report: Shanahan to DC done deal
That's some serious soap opera drama going on in the locker room right now.
As for CP I think he's almost like a Vinny II. Too close to the owner, he needs to go if only for the impression that true change is underway. Plus to state the obvious, his contract is ridiculous and he's past his prime. |

Good ol' Josina (she used to work with Tony McGee if I recall correctly). Josina also provided us with this nugget earlier this year "An anonymous Redskins coach told Fox 31 in Denver that, "There is definitely a number of us who would love to have him (Vick) play here. I can tell you I would not mind at all." Lots of speculation there. But anyway, I 100% agree with her on this: “Too many people were in Jim’s ears. That’s another big problem. If Jason (Campbell) did something bad, you would still be hearing about it on the sidelines way too long; even when the defense was on the field. (Other coaches) would never allow Jim to move on. But when Sherman Lewis came in, that got streamlined a little better.” |

I believe Blache and Gray and believe that it's all a smokescreen just to have the media speculate about the next coach and get it wrong. |
