IDK my man but it sounds like 5 won't be here next season. I was actually hoping otherwise, who knows maybe this changes this team around and we catch fire.
Doesn't matter who we bring in man, we have no line, or a good WR corp!!!!! We could bring Peyton Manning or Aaron Rodgers in here and either one of them would be ineffective. Shanny is being exposed for being an egomaniac or at the very least too akin to knee jerk decisions. I am really starting to believe we were yet again sold a bill of goods. Yet another "savior" HC pick that will turn us around. Thing is our linemen are not used to or built for his blocking schemes. He needs to figure out how to tinker with this or he is going to bolt like Spurrier. Shit, I would take Spurrier over Shanny anyday. He might have ruined Ramsey trying the Fun N Gun, but he didn't blame anyone or throw folks under the bus, when it didn't work out. I still root for Spurrier. The man has class, like Coach Gibbs.

If you have a problem with the way Donovan is practicing, then talk to him like a MAN about it. This is developing into a PR nightmare for the entire FO if the Shanahans don't work out their differences with McNabb and he ends up becoming the latest Redskins "rental" for picks.

I never thought Andy Reid was a dumb man, he knew exactly what he was getting rid of when he traded McNabb, and it now looks like we got the same thing that Reid saw...
I have a new level of respect for Reid. I mean for God's sake the guy turned Vick into a pro bowl PASSER. On top of that he's got Kevin Kolb playing great as well. If Kolb is drafted by any of the other 31 teams in the league he's out of the league. With Reid he's a top 15 QB. Not to mention Jeff Garcia and AJ Feely have also had impressive runs under center for the Eagles in recent years. I'm not afraid to say it. Reid is by far the best QB coach in the league.

I think Honestly that Andy Reid watched Donovan's mistakes time and time again and saw how the little things added up that cost them the big games, and i think he just wanted a fresh start.

At this point, unless McNabb turns into a Pro Bowler overnight, then Philadelphia was justified in trading him, we "rented" another former star for one year, and we still have no clear cut direction going forward.

I think maybe a QB change could spark this team, in light of Shanahan's problem with McNabb. I knew that DM had his issues, but i am kind of shocked that they would say that he is in poor shape and has bad practices. It's obviously true, but i still can't believe they would just come out and say it.

Shoot if Haslett could stay on and really get the D going, I would take another shot at Norv once the axe falls in San Diego, if Shanny bolts next season. Give Jim the HC job Norv back at OC or Give Norv the HC/OC and keep Jim as DC. I know I am really going off on a tangent, but these excuses coming out every few hours is moronic. Is this guy for real? He is losing credibility by the hour!!!!!

I'm all for blowing things up again here if the season totally tanks, but isn't Norv like 70 years old???

Nothing against elderly people (this time lol, reference to a thread long ago), but we need a somewhat young coach who could be here for more than 3 or 4 years.

But thinking of old coaches, is there any chance at all we can get Joe Gibbs to come back if Shanahan quits or is fired??:food-smil

That last part is meant to be a joke. I remember when i was still at Extreme Skins and they actually had a long thread about how they could try and get Joe Gibbs to come back after Zorn's first 8-8 season....lol

I can see that, but still, why all the different excuses coming out of Redskin Park by the hour? And if these things are all true, why didn't Shanny start Rex in previous games? There is a credibilty gap there. All of a sudden DM isn't starter material with little over two minutes to go?

Well, to answer your last question, Shanahan said that he considered benching McNabb after the win against the Eagles. He has not liked the way McNabb has played, and i guess he just wanted to see if a few more games would change things. McNabb has regressed and Shanahan knows he has to try something different now or the season could be lost.

Re: Mcnabb appears to be done and he is the reason for this loss

We should have kept Chase...but seriously folks, Jake Plummer totally sympathizes with McNabb right about now.

But Shanahan tends to be this way, he likes to shake things up at seemingly the oddest times at the QB position. I don't think he will this time namely because I'm not sure he has anyone to turn to. I think he realizes McNabb is the best option. I don't know about the Shanahans not liking the tempo of how McNabb practices, but they certainly have been frustrated with certain elements of his game. Well one, his footwork

Back to Chase, I'm not saying we should have kept him (though we should have) and I'm not saying we should have traded up for Sam Bradford (would have taken him at #4 though if he was there)...but I'm still surprised we didn't draft any future QB in the later rounds.

I didn't see anything really from Beck to think he's the answer

You can thank the head coach for materializing this out of thin air.

Matty please forgive me. I remembered Norv as a former coach from way back and confused him with Marty Shottenheimer, who i believe is near 70. Again, my apologies.

If we brought Norv back as HC, I would instantly resign as a moderator here and leave this site.
