NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Redskins will retain Jay Gruden as head coach.
The Ringer's Mike Lombardi added that the Skins are in the process of trying to extend assistant coaches' contracts, an obvious implication that Gruden's job is safe. Per RapSheet, there is a "deep understanding" within the organization that Washington disappointed this year due in large part to an unlucky run of injuries. The Redskins can finish 8-8 if they beat the Giants in Week 17.

As expected

No big surprise, can’t blame the staff for the absurd amount of injuries. I really hope they take a hard look at the training staff and strength/conditioning programs.

I agree Matty, training staff, strength + conditioning program, and WR coach are my top staff priorities for next year. I've been very unimpressed with our WR blocking this year, plus the development of our young guys has been unimpressive. Ike Hilliard can walk. S/N it will be the second time we got rid of Hilliard, he was also the WR coach here in 2012 and Shanny let him walk after the year. Not implying anything, just thought it was interesting.

Kowitca and Hilliard can take a hike, the team can do better.

Look at the injuries? How do you train for getting rolled up on? Or Allen's injury was basically a broken foot. How do you train for getting stronger feet? Norman has a internal injury. Some of these were flat out bad luck. Guys like Reed will never be healthy, no matter how hard he trains.

This staff is flat out average to sometimes below average. I guess they're keeping things together for the sake of continuity.

Obviously some injuries aren’t preventable, some are though. Doesn’t hurt to at least evaluate what happened this year. Maybe it was just shit luck. Maybe not.
