Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
I know for a fact from a leadership position at a hospital, if die from anything and they have covid antibodies, not even symptoms, it’s goes on the Covid count. Its dishonest, but there is financial incentive behind it from that same person.
This is also 100% true. Many people have already came out and stated this. |
Full capacity crowds or limited
I say go full capacity crowds, but I doubt if the NFL would do that. Probably go limited crowds until we get a vaccine which I'm not to take.
From everything I read, under that circumstance it may go on the provisional count but then be excluded after review and not counted towards CDC official tally.
If someone dies from a stabbing but tests positive post mortem ... it absolutely is not counted towards the CDC official count. You could argue the gray area of first line cause of death "heart failure" second line "due to COVID" ^^ that would be counted as covid related bc the person with the pre-existing condition would not have died but for the COVID aggravating a pre-existing condition. ------------------- Are we seriously arguing that the CDC and all the other medical experts saying there are 120k covid deaths are wrong? or that the mortality rate is the same as the flu? or masks dont help? or the stay at home didnt help? Im gonna take a break ... i find myself posting/refuting to much on here if you die in a car accident, it is absolutely not counted in CDC's official tally of covid deaths. i need to walk away
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/covid-data/covidview/05082020/nchs-mortality-report.html?fbclid=IwAR18yVyY7MXzXpgz3A-OOb8ThAkQkVgxdMDj3Fb3apsvKcNWZVckYq5BzdE The CDC is counting confirmed and presumptive cases to the death toll. They're combining pneumonia, influenza, and COVID-19 to booster the death tolls. I'm definitely saying those 120k deaths are wrong. The mortality rate could very well be the same as the flu. We just don't know, but we should just accept that it's higher than the flu based on incomplete or no information at all. Of course, the masks are going to limit the spread to an extent. But that is not going to completely stop the virus from spreading. You're a damn fool if you think it will. People are getting infected at home. The only thing these lockdowns are accomplishing is destroying the US economy. Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
Considering we were told mini camps would likely start on June 15th, that date has come and gone and crickets from the NFL about when they actually will. I am doubtful it will start on time.

I think the NFL is waiting to see how things go with MLB, NHL, NBA before they make a decision. |
Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
If so that just pushes the season down the road a bit.

I'm pretty sure they decided a long time ago that they were not happening in June. I thought they had moved them to July. |

With the current surge of the virus seeing a season happening is going down the tubes unless we get shit in order really quick |

Yeah looking at it again it looks on June 11th? they extended virtual through the end of June |
Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
Not sure if anyone else is reporting on it at this time, but it came across my twitter news feed last night that the NFL is expected to formally cancel the entire 2020 season at some point after July 4th.
I think from the moment that we officially went into the pandemic stage, the season was lost. 2021 i would think at this point is 50/50. Maybe this is the end of pro football / NFL for a while, who knows. |

My son was supposed to have tryouts for travel soccer this Friday and we decided we are going to forgo fall sports unless things improve. The reliance on "self" testing by the parent is enough for me to realize they aren't taking athlete health seriously and too many parents take U9 soccer far too seriously. There is zero reason a ref or paid health official can't be checking in these kids as they come to tryouts and games. |
Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
I think the season is in real jeopardy. Too many guys are going to get infected. Guys on the PGA Tour and their caddies are getting the virus. How are you going to stop football players from getting it?

Re: Why Hasn't Anyone Talked About-A Possible Cancellation?
And so it officially begins:
https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/hall-of-fame-game-canceled-cowboys-steelers-reportedly-called-off-hof-ceremony-postponed/ I would think at some point over the next couple of weeks, the NFL will come out and cancel the season and the playoffs, just like the folks on twitter last night were saying. Probably no football in 2021. |
