Re: offensive coordinator
I would welcome the idea of Al Saunders being the OC. But that would mean we'd have to get rid of someone in the staff wouldn't it?
Maybe...maybe not since there's no salary cap for coaches and staff. We could keep everyone.

Re: offensive coordinator

What I like about this potential move is Saunders comes from the same school of thought that Gibbs does. Power running game, big plays from the passing game, a move like this could only help to further develop the offense!

Re: offensive coordinator

Agreed, this is a very intriguing move. Hopefully if this works out our offense can catch up with the defense a bit as opposed to using them like a crutch. Imagine how dangerous we could be if we were that potent on both sides of the ball.

This move would definitely improve the offense.

Wow! I love love love love love this move! I hope it's true, but the real question is how long can we keep Saunders out of head coaching!

It's a COOL way to start the off-season! The best thing is Snyder is not in the habit of losing deals like this to other teams.

Wasnt it like this time last year when we got Musgrave? I mean like the first week after our season ended, not date wise. If you think about it, if Gibbs does want him, I am sure that he would want him here ASAP to start looking things over for the begininng of next season.

what exactly is musgraves job?coach gibbs calls the plays, musgrave is the qb's coach, but what is that?i would love saunders coming to dc and dont see the raiders stopping that because al davis in notorerious for being cheap when it comes to coaches, lord knows dan snyder isnt

Re: offensive coordinator

If Snyder lands him, not only would this be huge, but the league will certainly start looking at salary caps for coaches....lmfao!

I don't know for sure, but I get the feeling that Musgrave is more involved with "teaching" as opposed to drawing up plays. I think that what we saw from Ramsey in the Giants game, and what we'll see from Campbell is a reflection of Musgrave working with them and developing their skills.

Can you say "beast of the east" if this happen. This would mean a high powered offense to go with our defense.

Re: offensive coordinator

I join in the "This would be a great aquisition." chorus. It essentially gives us two head coach quality coordinators. Either Willliams or Saunders could step in after Gibbs stops coaching and moves up to CEO/General Manager/Redskin Guru and all-around football man.

One question though: Has Saunders worked with/for anyone from the Gibbs/Coryell coaching tree? Just curious.
