Re: 2006 NFC Predictions

I think the Skins have a really good chance to win the division. And I don't agree that Philly is still the team to beat. They have no running back, and their o-line is suspect. I know they had a lot of injuries, but I don't see them coming back as strong as they were before.

Re: 2006 NFC Predictions

Realisticly, the NFC East will be a dog fight. Every team in the NFC East is competitive, even the Cowgirls. The Redskins are off to a great start in the offseason but they have to upgrade their personnel especially at wide receiver, defensive line and the quarterback position (Brunnel needs to improve or Campbell needs to take the job). This is how I see the rankings in the East.

1. Washington Redskins
2. Philadelphia Eagles
3. New York Giants
4. Dallas Cowboys

You think Philly will be better than the giants? The Eagles are getting Westbrooke back along with McNabb but their receivers are trash. Eli at least has receivers.(although he cant win ball games with his arm)

Do you think he'll hang it up or do you think Jerry Jones's patience will run out. Personally, I think he'd walk away cause he doesn't have the patience for that. I mean God forbid he get a young QB and development them, oh no, just put a band aid on that position.

Re: 2006 NFC Predictions

I predict that the NFC East will be much tougher next season.

Little Eli will have another season under his belt and should cut down on mistakes. The Giants have a good linebacker group, led by "our" guy, Antonio Pierce. The secondary got better thru the season. They need another receiver to balance Plax Burress. Toomer is near done from what I see. They will compete for a receiver with the Redskins on the free agent market.

The Iggles are a playoff caliber team when they are healthy. Donovan McNabb makes them so. Plus, I'm not convinced they will follow-thru with dropping Terrell Owens. When faced with the reality of getting nothing in return for dropping him, the Iggles may lose the emotion and make a hard core business decision - no drop/trade if no value in return. For TO, there is no better way to rehabilitate his rep than by playing well for Philly. He will not improve his contract by leaving. I say it's 50-50 Owens stays. Don't laugh. I'm not predicting this, but won't be surprised if it happens!

The Cowboys have the biggest challenge only because O-line issues are the hardest to fix. If they can coach up those young tackles, they could easily win 9 games.

The Redskins take an interesting approach to 2006 by investing in coaches. I think that's smart. They have most of the other pieces already. The O-line is almost good enough to earn the name Hogs. David Patten returns; at least he draws double coverage. They have young rushing talent to back up Clinton Portis. We don't need to talk about the D, except to say we are better off with Arrington here than gone. Mostly thay have team continuity in staff and most players. They have to make better use of who they have. Gibbs didn't play fantasy football (play the name game) last season. He did his homework and thought about the attributes he wanted in role players. Then he got players everybody else overlooked. What did YOU think when you heard he signed Santana Moss and Mark Brunell? I believe he/Saunders will do the same and come up with someone unexpected, but who is exactly what the offense needs.

Barring injury, I say the Giants and Redskins could win 11-12 games next season. Philly is in that group with McNabb and Owens. Dallas' prospects depend on how well they upgrade protection for Drew Bledsoe.

Re: 2006 NFC Predictions

Jerry is the type of guy, that if it seems unreasonable to fire someone. Especially someone with the Tuna's credentials, he would fire him just to prove to us how smart he is. I love the guy, I really do.

Re: 2006 NFC Predictions

Jerry jones fired Jimmy Johnson, who won 2 Super bowls for the girls. Tuna fish has doing nothing close to that, so him being fired is not too far off.

We are a #2 WR and some depth at OL,DL,CB away from home field advantage throughout the playoffs. if we can get...

1) A.Randle El and possibly K.Robinson
2) Depth at OL, DL, CB nobody expensive
3) X-Factor Jesse Lumsford. I think this kid can be very versitol for us. On short yardage on screens similar to the way we use cooley and special teams.

This will not be that hard to do. We pull it off and Joe Gibbs will win his 4th Super Bowl with 4 different QB's, cementing his rightfull place as the best Head Coach Ever.

if you think our chances for homefield depend on lumsford, then we're screwed.

The NFC East is back and I believe we will see 2 playoff contenders again next year with us winning the division with a 13-3 record.
