1. There's no such thing as a MASSIVELY easy or difficult schedule anymore. You've heard of Parity? It's working.

2. I gave you two very good reasons that our record might not get better despite the improvment. Brunell doesn't fit and Campbell is green.

3. Never said the team was much much much worse. Those were your words. The overall talent on the team is certainly better.

1. we had the #2 hardest schedule in the NFL last year. this year it might be closer to 15-20. that would be massively easier.

2. brunell does fit. If they're going to completely change the offense with total disregard to the guy on the field, then the coaches are idiots and we have no reason to pay them millions a year.

3. i never said you did, but thought i'd throw it out there since it wasn't mentioned. Figured it might offset whatever deficiencies you might see.

1. Both O and D are ranked in the top 5 overall at the end of the year.
2. Al Saunders' O makes Brunell look like he's got 10 more years in the tank.
3. Trip to Miami.
4. Minimum 12 regular season wins.
5. Jason Campbell remains painfully behind the learning curve and never sees the field.
6. Moss, Brunell, Portis, Cooley, Samuels, Jansen, Thomas, Griffin, Springs, and Washington all go to Hawaii.
7. ST marks "6 months down, 102 to go" in chalk on his prison wall.

If you looked at the 2005 schedule before the season, you would have judged it an easy one. Four or five teams on our schedule made dramatic turnarounds from the previous year. The same thing could happen this year. That's because teams in the NFL are evenly matched.

Joe Gibbs told us that they went after Al Saunders because they were impressed by what he did at Kansas City. Have you read about his offense? There are major changes coming, not in formations, but in strategy.

He wants to spread and stretch the field. You do that with a pocket passer like T. Green not with a 36 year-old scrambler. Campbell has the ability but not the experience.

Green had 35 rushes for 82 yards.....Brunell had 42 rushes for 111 yards last year..... I don't think I would classify either guy as a "scrambler". If Brunell looked like he was on the move more often, it's probably because he wasn't behind the best offensive line in football (like Green was) and had to avoid sacks.

Trent Green is a pocket passer. Brunell is not. Brunell's instinct is to flush out out the pocket quickly and often. That's not going to fly with what Al Saunders is trying to do.

brunell moves around, but he had no problems staying behind the line and chucing it for over 3k yards with only 2 viable receiving threats, one of which ended up with constant double and triple coverage.

Your stats don't tell the story. Brunell doesn't run anymore but he still breaks from the pocket early and often just as he did in his prime years with the Jags when he made his living with his legs more than his arm.

Fine. But if he moves around the same way in Al Saunders' scheme, he will defeat the strategy of the offense...to stretch and spread the defense out...to attack all areas of the field...and to set up the running game for C. Portis.

and how does avoiding sacks ruin the offense exactly? I doubt we bootleg as much, it was boots where rolling out cuts the field in half, but those were playcalls, not his doing.

I'm not talking about planned bootlegs or scrambling to avoid sacks. A pocket passer stays in the pocket and goes through his reads. Brunell has never done that. He didn't do that with the Jags and hasn't done it here.

He sees the field better when he rolls left and he doesn't have a bunch of big guys blocking his vision. But there's a price to pay for that advantage and the price gets steeper as he gets older and his legs get weaker.
