No, not really. If everything was looked at with a fine tooth comb and minor claims that were borderline weren't paid, they would only end up in litigation later on which in the end would cost much more than just paying the original claim. |

Also you have to remember that even if the adjuster may no that the claim might be fraud they have to prove this. If they do not have any direct evidence they have no choice than to pay the claim. If they accuse a customer with no hard evidence they get sued by the insured or claiment. I have heard that over 25% of all prmium goes to fraud and that a major portion of the population feels its ok to inflate a claim or exaggerate an injury.

This is true. I know on multiple instances where we have seen fraud, but we cannot prove it well enough to deny the claim. As Matty stated earlier, it is sometimes best to settle a claim rather than go through the lengthy and costly process of litigation. |
