What a crock of SH**!! THe reproter quotes Taylor as saying: "I think in my case, in my scenario, I think it was the best way to just put it away and let me focus on football these three days," Taylor said. "So you don't have to ask me, 'Why did you miss camp again?' when I show up for training camp, (and) butcher me."

This is SO taken out of context (the "butchering" line). He says that as he is laughing and joking with the press, and the reporters are laughing with him throughout the presser. Not to mention that Sean says all the right things about being a Redskin, working with his teammates, etc. Wow. No wonder these guys don't like to talk to the press!

No, this is a retarded question, he doesnt he is seriously a very nice guy, and he doesnt have lip, you guys have heard his interviews, the whole legal thing is hurting his rep, and bc of spitting and his badassness on the field, people think he is a killer thug. I have also met the guy, off the field and with the coaches he is so nice.

That article is REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY reaching there. I think the quote that they are playing off of is when Taylor said they could make him look bad again.

All reports I"ve heard (and seen first hand personally) is that Taylor really turned over a new leaf and has been a much better person in the public eye.

The "butchering" line is what I beleive the writer took offense too. It was "In his view" an indirect slap at the media based on his past dealings with them. They recognize the fact he does not have a fondness for the media, and any remark that seems in any way derogative they exploit as being biased. I therefore I agree with your asessment that's the reason why so many players do not like to talk to the press. I've been convinced for a long time that that is the reason Art Monk is not in the HOF.

What really bothers me about this article is the fact that it is an AP article.

The team was 100% behind him missing time to resolve his legal issue. Every one of Gibbs' comments was taken out of context. That article is garbage. The reporter has an axe to grind. He is probably from Tampa Bay.

I like how these morons take the side of the convicted felons looking for a payday who stole his ATVs, shot up his car and the house that he was in.

Yeah, I am not surprised that there is no name above the garbage that they wrote.
What really bothers me about this article is the fact that it is an AP article.
I don't know why that would bother you the AP has as much junk as they do true News. Its very simple to understand. Taylor likes to play football but he does not enjoy all the media and PR that goes along with the game. Reporters rely on players to be friendly with the media and when they are not it shows in the articles. As long as he shows up on the highlight film on Sunday and Monday night thats all we need to care about.
no idea, it seems more like the writer had a beef with him than anything else. Nothing new was reported there.
My thoughts exactly. Some overly-sensitive reporter was probably insulted that Taylor didn't answer every annoying question he wanted to ask and now has an axe to grind.

Never trust the media...

Re: Redskins' Taylor still has an attitude?

I love the fact that if you watch an interview with Shaq he will typically give answers that could often be translated to "sht up and leave me alone," but because he says them in slightly funny and entertaining ways the media loves him. Taylor seems like he's very frank adn straight foreward with the reporters so they get annoyed and twist his words or give them their own context.

I think reading between the lines is always key.
