I prefer beer, but I do love a good strong cocktail. I don't like it straight that well, mainly because it's a first-class ticket to puking later if I drink it straight. I love me some straight up rum and coke mixed with some GOOD rum, like Captain Morgan's Private Stock. Or I'll Snoop-Dogg it and drink some Gin and Juice. In general, I drink Bud Light as my "get f-ed up" beer of choice, but lately owning a house I've only been able to afford Keystone. When I got the money though, Corona, Labatt, Molsen, Magic Hat #9, Guiness.

All a GOOD decision.
Ah yes, Molsen Canadian is another great one.

But it's got to be while you're in Canada. The alcohol content is higher.

AMD - what pub is that? The only places I can think of your way are Olney Grille, Stained Glass II, Madison's, and Olney Ale House.

Beer, the nectar of the Gods. I love beer. And, I'm willing to try anything once. Trips to the beer store in college used to take a minimum of 30 minutes because once there, you had to look for that perfect beer to go with your mood and the mood of the night.

There is a place in DC called the Brickskeller. At any one time, they have over 1000 beers available (their beer menu is bigger than their food menu, and is laid out by country). Great place to go and sample beers.

Dogfish Head (nod to Brud), a microbrew from Lewes, DE, recently opened a restaurant 2 minutes from my house, and they make some great beer. I've been drinking a lot of their Raison D'etre lately, along with their own brand spiced rum.

My softball team drinks Miller Lite, so I'm usually drinking that on Wednesday nights after the games.

One of my favorites is Anchor Steam. I get it on tap at an oyster bar in Rehoboth (another nod to Brud). I guess I'll have to take my wife there tonight so she can get some oyster shooters and I can get some Anchor Steam.

There are 2 places I go where they have the perfect Guinness pour. Mrs. O'Leary's in Gaithersburg, and Bushwaller's in Frederick (where they draw a shamrock in the head of the beer).

In my fridge at any one time, I usually have 2 or 3 different kinds of beer. I got to my buddy's house and it's like a beer store, as he usually has at minimum 5 different kinds of beer in his fridge.

PBR has a special place in my heart, as it is the "official beer" of our tailgate for Regent's Cup.

Man, I haven't had a Newkie Brown in a LONG time. I used to sweat that stuff out of my pores when I was in the military. Now, just like AMD, I could drink Guinness all day long. Also, if I run across some Yeungling Black & Tan, I'll get that. Wheat beers are pretty good tasting but not for pounding. My drinking has actually been pretty sparce once my kid was born. Trying hard to be responsible.

Bohnzie, I was talking about the Ale House. That old redneck bar Griff's Place got sold and remodeled and apparently it's unbelievably nice now, so I might have to keep it out this weekend. I think it's called Uncle Dave's now.

At the ale house they probably have about 100 different types, which are listed by country. I tend to order by alcohol content. Three Philosophers was good and so was Dead Man Ale.

There is a beer I read about a year or so ago that I really want to try. Here's a link to their website [SOUND, and you're supposed to be 21 to enter :)]

and yes, that is Ogre of Revenge of the Nerds fame!

I figured it was the Ale House...but wanted to see if i was missing a place.

Yeah, I drive by Griff's on my way home from Stained Glass all the time, and they really cleaned that place up big time. If you wander in there, let me know how it is. You also need to swing my way so we can go drinking. Mrs O'Leary's is a short drive, the wife would pick us up if need be.

Nice. My sister has been to Griff's (both versions) and said it's really nice now. The only time I've ever been was back a few years ago. We had just gotten done playing poker for like 7 hours and wanted to get a quick beer but they wouldn't serve us because they were closing. The highlight was that there was an old guy dancing in the corner by himself and I swear he looked like a fat version of Charles Manson, so I dubbed him Billy Manson, Charlies brother.

I'm definitely a beer man.

I love booze too but I get too outta control. Beer is a controlled quantity of alcohol, with booze I just mix them stronger and stronger as I go, LOL.

I love all kinds of beer with some of my favorites being Guinness, Corona and Heineken, and those 3 beers are the ones you'll find most frequently in my fridge. The new Heineken lite is pretty damn good, anyone else try it?

I love beer too. While I'm not a beer snob like some of my brethern, which I think is great by the way, I can appreciate a good Lager and a good Ale.

Here's my list in order:
Yeungling (anytime, anywhere)
Heineken
Bass Ale
Foggy Bottom (micro-brew)
Resurrection (high acohol content) two you're feeling nice, three...watch out!
Corona....very, very rarely

No lite beer for me. It's the equivalent to drinking decaf coffee in my mind. What's the point?

I had a Heieny Lite the other day. I too thought is very good for a lite beer.

Re: Let's talk beer

i bought a 6er of the Heiny Lite and wasn't too impressed with it. I dont mind drinking it, but wouldn't go out of my way to get it either. Kinda like Sam Adams Light. It's good, but I'd much rather just drink the regular version.

12th....in one post you claim to not drink light beer, then turn around in the very next one and say you had a Heiny Light. What gives?!?!?

I tried it just that once, but I'm not a lite beer drinker.....just wanted to taste it, you know. Hope I didn't break any Man Laws:)

You sound a lot like me when it comes to drinking. I think I drink beer because I have the same problem you do. Like with beer, I can't "make it stronger", I can just drink more. I was at this party a few months ago where I was making margaritas and by the end of the night I had basically tequila with a splash of sour mix on the top drinking it straight out of a cup.
