Waiting weeks for this game was long. Having a crap game with CP hurt, great. Have to wait 1 week for redemption.
The Good:
* Nice first few plays (except for the INT and the injury to Portis).
* Espy - he is good and he has heart. At worst he should make the practice squad.
* Jason Campbell - played really well with a crappy line and not so hot running back. Nice touch on the ball and spiral.
* 1'st team Defense - No need to elaborate, you so those monsters.

The Bad
* Special team play was so so.
* Our backups are bad, maybe even pretty bad.

The Ugly
* Todd Collins - Man, he stinks. No seriously, is this guy a QB in the NFL? For someone who is suppose to know the offense he played pretty awful. I shudder at the though of him being our #2. I am in favor of elevating Campbell to #2.

p.s. I'm disapointed we didn't get to see Lumsden play.
Everything is unfolding before our eyes as the stage is set for Lumsden to be our "Rudy" and run for 2K yds.

K.Carter how hurt is he? Is he going to beat out the other RB's on the roster? He sure did a lot of dancing around when he was in! What do you think about Carter?

Carter didn't look that hot to me. All those plays for negative gain by dancing around will not endear him to Gibbs, that's for sure.

I don't think Carter had much of a chance really even before he got hurt. But I really wanted him to make the team so he can talk about this:

Torontoist: Tall Poppy Interview - Kerry Carter: NFL Running Back, Poet, Entrepreneur, Ladies Man

"My goal is to bring chivalry back to the way we communicate. I feel that it is becoming a lost art. Many people assume, certainly in the NFL, that they have money and nice cars and that’s enough, that they no longer need to use words to seduce. It’s these tangibles that de-values who they are as a person. I want to help people take it to a different level of romance, something that has been missing. I want to bring back to the past. This book is intended to help you lure your woman, to help you find the right one. Observe how a woman reacts to your words, and you will be able to see her true feelings."

I'm willing to let it all go and get on with training camp, but still:

I was feeling extremely good for a couple of minutes, the offense rolling, Brunnell finding guys, Lloyd diving, etc. Then, in one play, it was like someone kicked me in the nuts. An interception leading to the injury of our best player. Come on! It's like someone in Dallas scripted that! Wow.

Ok I'm done. Gonna wait til Gibbs watches the film and breaks it down for me. Plus, this will remove any overconfidence!

Maybe Joe scripted it to quash all the Super Bowl talk :)
I agree with you SGG. Our depth needs to improve though. And i was impressed with that catch Lloyd made early on. Where have you been lately SGG?
I was just working at a new job and had to neglect everything in my life for a while.

I was strutting cause I picked the Bengals to win 32-3 in another thread. They only got 19, but hey you have to hand it to me, I was close. So that was cool. ;)

It's early, and it will take time for the team to come together and really find itself; once again we have made a lot of changes on one side of the ball and we need time to get into a groove on offense. The offense always takes more time to come around anyway.

our first teamers looked just fine. our second teamers leave alot to be desired. other then jason campbell, who will probably be the back up because TODD COLLINS STINKS.been in al saunders offense for how long? he looked lost and scared too death. mcintosh, with some experience, is going to end up starting before the season is over although i thought holdman looked ok with the starters.

Re: Something Positive To Take From Tonight...

1st Defense - AWESOME!!!
1st Offense - Still Learning, but looks more diversified. Should look better in a couple of weeks. We have a real #2 receiver.
backups... lots of questions still remain, but they stunk up the place. O-line pass blocking improved at end of game.
Jason Campbell - Looks better than a week ago. Showed poise and good pocket presence. Moved in the pocket well. Showed good arm strength and accuracy. I was happy with his performance given his lack of run support.

Guys... what we didn't see out there was game planning. We have the top coaches in the league and that will count when the real games start getting played. Right now they are just playing simple helment-on-helment football and seeing who can play in the NFL.

Keep the faith!
