Re: Questioning Shawn Springs Motives

It's his body. He has to do what he feels best. He doesn't have to have a motive. You would do whatever it takes to feel better fast!

I put the responsibility squarely on Shawn Springs doctors. The last couple of seasons our staff has misdiagnosed several injuries and because of this the player was either pushed back to soon or it took longer than originally expected because they didn't do what was necessary because of an incorrect diagnoses.

I'm not even sure what the conspiracy theory is here.

What would be his motives to putting off getting 100% healthy??

He's probably talking about Arrington and Hall.

Let's not overlook the fact that these guys also get second opinions from top specialists from all over the country.

It's not just team doctors at fault here. Medicine isn't an exact science either.

Yeah you're probably right and I figured that's what he was talking about. I think the point is off-base personally. It sounded like one of those 'the sky is falling' posts and I wanted to see if he could actually offer substantial support for his point.

Re: Questioning Shawn Springs Motives

nothing here. he either thought (or was told) it'd get better with time, and it either wasn't actually a problem or didn't become a big enough one until recently. Doctors are trained to be cautious instead of demanding surgery for anyone and everyone at the drop of a hat, since there can be severe consequences.

springs also has an injury filled history and his contract was really cheap because of it. The fact that he got injured (again) is just part of the downside of that deal. He's done much more good than harm though and so far reports say he'll be ready to start before the 3rd or 4th game. It's not that bad and i don't believe he OR his doctors have done anything wrong or malicious.

I'm not a doctor... but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.[/quote]

Did he show up to practice in spandex and a BIKE helmet?
