Hey Crazy... this may seem like a dumb question, but I still don't really know how this works- how long does a waived player's dead money count against a team's cap? Meaning, Trotter's contract was for 7 years i think (signed two years ago i believe) and it's going to count this year and next year's for sure. What about the remaining three years? Does the remaining contract disappear after the second year post-waive?

And if he gets picked up by another team, which is very likely, the only money that should count against us is the difference in his contract with us and what his new team pays him. Is that how it works????
