That window behind my desk has had almost a foot of water over it before. It seals when I put it down. During the summer I have a lounge chair and table outside of it in the gutter. I'm cool.[/quote] is that a big bucket of steriods on the window sil? |

LOL we've had people leave those little heaters on all weekend, talk about a fire hazard. |
Re: F people who crank the heat at work
They don't allow the little space heaters in my building, we don't have a public thermostat, and they don't switch over from A/C to heat until the first week of November. I'm surprised the women in the building haven't started bringing in blankets yet.

Re: F people who crank the heat at work
Keep the heat off in server rooms. They'll overheat. I worked at a previous job where the stupid ladies would turn on the heat in the small room where we kept supplies AND the server. Even when we had IBM come out to do a parts replacement on one of them, they warned us to keep it cooler in the room and I still couldn't get them to listen. It's not like they even had to work in that room (although I did), you walk in occasionally for under a minute and grab something and get out. If it's 60 degrees in there, you won't die!
I hope they've fried it by now without me there to fix the thermostat daily. |

Re: F people who crank the heat at work
At my old job I sat with my back facing this chick who would always crank up her little space heater, regardless of how hot it was outside. I really hate being hot, so I would crank up my fan and point it toward the heat.
Everyday was like a battle of good vs evil, until I finally got a new job and evil prevailed. My coworkers seemed sad that I was leaving, but I really think it's because I took the little fan with me and they had to sweat it out. |
Re: F people who crank the heat at work
Yep, in a big office building, no control over the thermostat. It's usually more on the cold side than warm.
And, at my old job, any time I wanted to cool off, I'd go sit in the server room for 10 minutes. It was so nicely ice old in there. |

Server room = Best place to keep beer/spirits.
Not that I condone workplace drinking. |
