Re: skins sign fisher(sp) (rumor) MERGED
He is a good nickelback, but so is Smoot.
We have a good CB situation UNLESS we cut Springs w/o getting Bly. Then we just have Carlos Rogers and two nickelbacks.
Don't you mean 3 nickle backs? |
Re: skins sign fisher(sp) (rumor) MERGED
Yeah, my thought exactly. How many corners do we need? Usually you go into a season with five at most, right?
Seems like they're doing all the wheelin' and dealin' in the secondary when they should be making moves along the D-line.
If we satisfy our needs in the secondary through FA, it only leaves us to draft for the DL and OL. We could be in poistion to draft a Justin Blalock and Alan Branch... WOW. |

Yeah, that's true. Because we could use BOTH a d-tackle and end. And probably one more. |
Re: skins sign fisher(sp) (rumor) MERGED
If this is true we are totally overloaded at CB. This seems alittle excesive
Springs, Rogers, Smoot, Fisher, Jimoh??? So pretty much we're going to have two starting caliber CB's sitting on the bench.
The Fisher signing is nothing special. Hopefully he can stay healthy? Also, the status of Springs is clearly uncertain. If he stays and is healthy he could move inside. BYE BLY! |
Re: skins sign fisher(sp) (rumor) MERGED
Fisher's first couple years in St. Louis were decent. He has been beset with injuries the last couple years, but he, Springs (if he stays) along with Smoot and Rogers would give us a formidable quartet at CB. Jimoh is counted on mainly for his ST ability so I didn't include him. Personally, I wouldn't trade for Bly, he'll be a FA at the end of the coming season, I think I would take my chances then if they're still interested.

Re: skins sign fisher(sp) (rumor)
Samuel really impressed me in that game against IND. Another team must be drooling over Springs right now. I smell a trade and it might not be with DEN.
when i said look alike i meant he physically looked like him he is no where near as good |
when i said look alike i meant he physically looked like him he is no where near as good
I didn't misinterpret that. It's funny how some don't think Clements is at the level as Champ Bailey and therefore not worthy of a blockbuster contract. I think Samuel is a better CB than both of them right now. Of course Fisher is just a depth signing.
cornerback goes from a weakness to a strength. he is a good nickel back
He is the dime at the moment. |
Re: skins sign fisher(sp) (rumor) MERGED
If this is true Springs is gone without a doubt.
|
Re: skins sign fisher(sp) (rumor) MERGED
weird that we signed another CB (if true). If it's near vet min though, it's definitely a roster upgrade.

Re: Skins sign CB Fisher? (unconfirmed)
You can never have too many cover corners............I really hope we don't get rid of Springs.

Re: Skins sign CB Fisher? (unconfirmed)
I'm still searching for conformation!!! I can't find anything on a Fisher trade to Wash. Therefore I guess that's still unconfirmed.
