Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
is there a such thing as a sign and trade, kind of like the nba? and as long as springs stays healthy, which is a big if, the corners are fine
Yeah, All I'm saying is that we need to make another move. I'm not content with what we have, there is no way we finish the season with Springs, Smoot, and Rogers all healthy.
If they were all robots, then yes.. I'd be content, but they won't last. We'll find something, no doubt, I'm just saying I think it's a high priority. |

Draft Calvin Johnson and move Brandon Lloyd to DB
|
Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
Our secondary will be fine. We need D-line heip. If we do something STUPID during the draft I will just puke.

I hate Lloyd so much. It's not even about football anymore. I just hate him. Like his soul. |
Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
Damn... I was holding out hope that we'd get him...oh well
Its a bit scary though w/ injury prone SS... As for Free Agents left, Chad Williams seemed to have the best stats, and hes fairly young...might be worth looking at. Although he could only help by adding a little depth, he seems to have been a consistent backup, maybe he could help to keep SS, CR, and FS healthy by rotating in... I really dont know anything about Chad, has he signed anywhere? Are his fairly impressive stats as a backup not indicative of his ability to contribute? Does he have any issues I'm not aware of? Would the redskins consider him? Is this list of questions annoying? Do I look like I care? |

According to ESPN.com : ESPN.com - NFL - 2007 NFL Free Agents
Chad Williams isn't a free agent. The link gives a nice little list. |

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
Where's the outcry for the Broncos signing a 30-year old CB who is no longer one of the game's elite, if he ever was? Why is there no one screaming about how they just gave him a 5 year deal with an $18 million signing bonus?

Shanahan's a genius no matter how many goal line fades he calls on 4th and goal.

Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
There's a mystical love affair the league and its viewers have for the Broncos. It is hard to figure out sometimes.
As long as they remain in some form of contention year in and year out, they're going to get a pass with their free agent spending sprees. |

Good idea! Couldn't think of a better spot for BL. Well maybe one.....one way ticket outta DC |
Re: Bly Signs Extension with Broncos
Bly was still a steal in my mind. To put up those numbers on that bad of a team is impressive at the corner position. I'd rather him than briggs personally. Springs staying healthy is not an option, cause it never happens. And anyone who watched the skins knows that neither smoot nor rogers can keep up with #1 receivers in this league. We gotta pick.....good pass rush, or good coverage, right now we have neither, and arent addressing either one.
Well a good pass rush can make mediocre corners look pretty good. Pass rush is the defensive cure-all. Even a good corner can only cover a guy for so long if no one is pressuring the QB. |
