I'm definitely more stressed now than I ever was for my most difficult exams in college. Doesn't help that my wife is almost 5 months pregnant and I have a 60 mile one way commute, but you gotta work where the money is. And, I never took school seriously...could be something I regret, but I don't. I've got a piece of paper with my name on it that says I gots an edjumacation.

I'm with dmek. While the money is good, you don't have it long. And I'm finally to the point where I'm not living paycheck to paycheck, and it's still a pain in the ass. Mortgages suck.

But to each their own...

Yeah, see this is the whole reason why work is more stressful. If you're single living in an apartment, then work usually isn't all that stressful, because nobody's depending upon your paycheck other than you. But when you have a family to support and a mortgage payment to make, doing well at work matters a lot more. When you realize what it's going to cost to send your child to college, getting the next raise at work becomes very important.

For those trying to work their way out of debt and/or struggling to make ends meet, it's even more important.

In college, exams matter for your grades which impacts your college resume. So yeah, it's an intense amount of stress in a short time. But in the end, if you don't do well, you're only letting yourself down. There's much more stress involved in knowing that your children or spouse are depending on you.

One of the other things that suck about jobs - You have to actually be there.

School - not so much. Sure there are some classes that require attendance but I probably blew off at least a third of my undergrad class time. In law school, while much stricter, I still had more days of "Nope, not today" than I have ever had at work.

Then there's the tolerance for hangovers. Partied too late the night before? School - it's okay, I got my hoodie and sunglasses. Work - I still have that damn conference at 10:00 and client interview at 2:00.

Regarding money, back in college I was dirt broke but I also had no bills.

Now it seems the more money you make, the more you spend. Sure I have enough to live comfortably and I have my share of toys and a house, but something about flying by the seat of your pants and not knowing where you next solid meal was going to come from... nah forget it I'm not going to even try to say it was fun because it definitely wasn't. LOL

I'll take work thank you very much. School was definitely more stressful for me. For me school consisted of constantly studying, working on a project the entire weekend, and exams. Work is stressful at times but for the most part it's fun and I get paid to do what I like doing.
School and work both have their stresses. School is pretty much stress free for 10 months out of the year, especially for the six months (SIX MONTHS) you have off for summer and winter breaks. But all the stress for the year gets packed into the month leading up to finals.

Slackers. I took extra classes through my seasonal breaks. :pffff:

I don't for shit over breaks. Winter break I only drank a couple times. This winter break I'll be getting a job at my internship i had in high school. 40 hour weeks though. Will be annoying.

I dunno guys, I think it's a toss-up. It's true that in college you can go to a lot of parties and meet a lot of women, but you're also constantly broke, tired of eating bad food, and generally talk about nothing of real importance in class. Work might be stressful, but at least you get paid for it and you're actually doing something in the real world.

It's all part of the natural progression of life. In Kindergarten, you miss sleeping all day in your crib. 3rd grade you miss finger painting in Kindergarten. 7th grade you miss the basic simplicity of learning multiplication tables in 3rd grade (or was that 2nd). In high school, you miss doing those dioramas in 7th grade and so on...
