Do you guys like anybody in the NBA?
Is there a consensus "good guy" that everyone generally likes?
That's a good question. I like Tim Duncan a lot, but he's not exciting or flashy enough for some, and considered "soft" to others. |

Watch him during the next series. Every other call he's going to think he was fouled. |

LOL that didn't take long before someone cut down Duncan. So again, is there a guy out there in the NBA that most people like? How about Nash? |

Re: lebron, WOW
I like Nash. I also like Wade, and I know I'll might get attacked for saying this after going off on Lebron but I love Iverson. I know most people wouldn't consider him a "good guy" as such, but he's the man, IMO.
I didn't start watching any basketball until my freshman year of college ('00-'01) and even then I pretty much just stuck to college, but I did watch the Eastern Conference Finals and the NBA Finals that year and that's when I developed my man-crush on AI. He would get creamed 90% of the times that he drove the lane and yet he'd hop right back up and continue to run around like Phillip the Hyper-hypo. it seemed like he could make any shot he wanted to and that no one could stop him. The 76ers did end up losing to the Lakers that year, but he was still the best part of the entire series for me. |

Re: lebron, WOW
I'll tell you what, the Wizards top 3 players just happen to be 3 of the NBA Good Guys. Arenas, Butler, and Jamison. Make me proud to be a Wizards fan.

The fact that Butler overcame the crap from his teenage years and is now considered to be an NBA good guy has got to be a testament to him and to the people around him that have helped to make him into the man he is now. I agree with you 100%, he makes me proud to be a Wizards fan; those 3 all do. One rumor from Simmons that had me a bit concerned the other day is that we might trade Jamison for RUBEN PATTERSON! I really hope that doesn't happen, even if he is younger and has comparable skills. |
Re: lebron, WOW
The rumor was Patterson to the Wizards, Jamison to the Hawks and who knows what to the Blazers. I asked some reliable folk and it appears to be nothing more than some imaginary scenario created by the Chicago Tribune (or maybe it was the Sun-Times). Patterson is actually more likely to go to the Bulls.

Re: lebron, WOW
What's up with the intermitent chatter going around about Jamison being traded? I like AJ. He hits big shots and has the skill to take the team on his shoulders for a short time if Gil is hurt. Sure he plays defense as well as I would but it is not like anyone else on that team plays D. Although he he is a particularly poor defender.

Re: lebron, WOW
Why would say I'd argue about Larry Hughes? He has all the talent in the world but he has yet to show in his entire career that he can stay healthy, and he is not a good complement to LeBron. The Wizards are much better off without him
As for Bron Bron, I don't understand the hate toward him. Actually, I do. It's that whole "we enjoy seeing successful guys fail" mentality. But he's a great player (improving each season), he has no personal/legal issues off the court, and the NBA is better off with people like him serving as the game's ambassador. I'm not a fan per se of James or the Cavaliers, but I certainly appreciate his talents and what they're doing. Of course, all that said I still believe with a healthy Caron and Arenas the Wizards would have beaten the Cavs in the first round.
I am a hater of LeBron just because I feel he is overrated, and that stupid hype comparing him to Jordan a couple years ago. I also am a hater because of the wizards matchups the last couple years in the postseason. I still think he is good though. You cannot deny that, and he basically only drives, yet no one can stop him. That is kinda crazy. |

It's all because of salary cap. Nothing more, nothing less |
Re: lebron, WOW
If Lebron makes the finals, he's a step farther than he was last season- even if they do get swept (but I don't think he'd let that happen). Remember, they lost in 7 to Detroit last year. Give him time- he's only three years removed from high school- and he doesn't have a Scotty Pippen or a Shaq on his team like Mike or Kobe. He's not surrounded by Matrices, STATs and a sick Nash-like PG. He's on the Cleveland Cavs, not some perennial winner...
He's going to evolve the game (much as I hated him for LeTravel against our boys) b/c of his ability to see the floor like Magic and take over a game like Mike in the 4th. Plus no one's seen a guy 6-8, 240 with his power, speed and agility. As for the rings, I'm willing to wager he'll have a few before his career is over. |
