Re: Colts release Corey Simon
It seems that he has a major relationship issue with the Colts and there that undisclosed alignment. That puts me off quite a bit.

Re: Colts release Corey Simon
I wonder if the Colts would consider at all re-signing Corey Simon now that McFarland is supposedly out for the season.

I was just wondering the same thing. Colts not looking so hot in D-Line department lately. |
Re: Colts release Corey Simon
When was the last time they were looking hot in the defensive line department. Not even Dwight Freeney has performed to his potential lately.

Re: Colts release Corey Simon
Taking him is as bad as taking Strahan. WE blew it this season when we didn't draft a DE, even with the low picks we had. Like t he FO, we just have to hope our guys stay healthy and actually make an impact this season. If we don't draft a DE next year our FO is truly daft!!!!!!!!

Re: Colts release Corey Simon
Corey Simon has now shown two successful franchises - Phily and Indy - that he is unwilling to put in the WORK that it takes to be a successful DT in the NFL. For the uninitiated, that means he's become a FAT-ASS.
He has eaten his way out of the NFL and that says something when you consider that Gilbert Brown and Sam Adams and Grady Jackson and folks of that ilk have found ways to stay in the league well into their 30s as DTs. But Simon has now become expendable to two successful franchises... The Skins should not touch this guy with a 100-foot pole. If Simon thinks there's a franchise that can rehab his credentials, he should head to Oakland and go 4-12 for this year. Then maybe - I said MAYBE - he'd be worth something more than a vet minimum deal for 2008. At the moment, he isn't worth the time of day. |
Re: Colts release Corey Simon
I say Tank Johnson would be the best of the bunch. He's good, not old, and sounded quite repentant after the Chitown episode. Talk about adding a hoss for the stretch drive. The first six games are the easiest part of the schedule, then he would pop in right when things start getting hairy.

Re: Colts release Corey Simon
I agree with the Tank Johnson thing. I dont beleive he is a bad guy and with the right guidance would not only be a productive player but a good person in the community. I do believe he is sincere in his apologies and he does one thing many players in his sitaution dont do, He admitted he was wrong and wants to make it right by accepting his punishment and moving on.
