I had big problems with Progressive so I did a job search on them. EVERYONE hates to work for them. Go to jobvent.com, that is a great site!
Well, I don't think anyone who LOVES their job would post there, it's probably not a really reliable place to check out an employer. :D

Did you look at the website??? They have companies on there that people write about that they love as well. Though I do agree the title of the web site does preposition people to want to say bad things.

I can vouch for what's posted there about Progressive, in fact some of those posts are mine. The company is just as bad as the posts say.

I haven't had enough bad experiences to single out a company I wouldn't work for, but the best company I have worked for was the American Funds.

Great, company to work for. Not perfect, but a great place to be employed.

I was living in L.A. at the time where their headquarters is located, and decided to move back to D.C.

I'm working now for M&M Mars and the environment is the best I've ever been around. I used to work for Embarq (ISP) and they were really relaxed, which helped because level I tech support sucks ass.

I can't believe no one has said they'd work for Hugh Hefner!

I would work for the local, state or federal government.

I wouldn't work for a manuacturing company.

After thinking about it some more I don't think I would want to work for Google. Can you imagine working at a place where ~2000 employees are multimillionaires and ~8000 are not?

Being a contractor is not what you may think. Civilian Government employee is the way to go. Retire after 20 years and then go into the private sector. While being a contractor has it's share of intrigue, as soon as the contract is up you may find yourself looking for a job with another company. I am a Contractor and I am busting my ass to get a Government job. I would hate to waste 9 years I have already put towards a Federal retirement.
