Re: Harrington is looking great in Cincy game...
Joey Harrington will force teams to respect the passing game more than Vick could. This could be good for the Falcons. If they can keep a decent running game going, Harrington will be ok for them. I think they will do better than they would have with Vick honestly. It is probably a blessing in disguise that Vick won't be there this year.
I agree with you on that! |
Re: Harrington is looking great in Cincy game...
This is how Harrington rolls. He'll look good at times but turn around and throw 4 picks the next game.

Good point. Maybe he can string together some good games though...he obviously has the potential. |

Did Lemar Marshall get in the game at all?

Yes, I think he was #52. |
Re: Harrington is looking great in Cincy game...
It's kind of weird that he gets to play in the preseason games and practice with the team, and he's about to sit out for 8 weeks.
Why is he allowed to play now at all? By the way, nice play just now by former Skin Nic Clemons
he sure beefed up. |

How did he do? |

100% disagree. Sometimes a change of atmosphere and coaches helps a lot! Look at Steve Young, he was downright awful for 4 straight years (85-88) where he had right around 53% completion and only 24 tds, coupled with 24ints. He wasn't given the full riens til 91 or 92. (7-8 years later) This will be Harrington's 6th year. Also, for the first time in his career, he hasn't needed to be "THE MAN", he actually has a running game in Atlanta to fall back on if need be. Just in case you missed it, Harrington has gotten better with comp % which is usually an indictation of a QB getting better: 02- 50.1% 03- 55.8% 04- 56.0% 05- 57.0% 06- 57.5% Now, I'm not saying that he's going to be Steve Young (IMO the best QB ever) what I am saying is there has been people that have done it, it's not too late. Also, it basically took Rich Gannon 10 years before he was good...everyone passed on him too...oh yeah, like the Skins! |
Re: Harrington is looking great in Cincy game...
Rich Gannon got good way to late in his career to really make a big splash, with the exception of his Super Bowl year. Didn't he break his neck or something?

I don't recall him breaking his neck. Just wait until GTripp gets a hold of this thread. If you thought he was a Brady Quinn fan just wait until he gets started on Gannon! |

Yes, but not a serious enough injury to paralyze him, just enough to keep him out of football in danger it could get worsen. Has nothing to do with his early career, just why he retired. About the got good late in his career thing...that's the point. Harrington still could have something left to show us. |
Re: Harrington is looking great in Cincy game...
I definately think that guys can revive their careers with a change of scenery and experience. I just don't see Harrington as one of those guys. I've followed him long enough (I live in NFC North country) to say with a high degree of certainty that the guy is unlikely to be a success story in the NFL.
