Re: Early Line for Wash/NE Game
What is the over under line?
Huge upset, highly unlikely. Close hard fought our guts out win, that seems more likely. I would say Skins by 3, 24 - 21 |
Re: Early Line for Wash/NE Game
They haven't played any good pass Ds yet, even Dallas is a middle-of-the-league (ranked #15 in pass D) and aren't very good.
We have dropped from #3 last week to #5 in D, but still have the #1 D in the NFC. If anyone has a chance against them (before the Colts), it's us. But, Coach Gibbs...
"We'll probably be the biggest underdog in the history of sports," coach Joe Gibbs said Monday. "Has anything held up against them? Do you have a game plan that will work against them? If you do, leave it here. Because I don't think anybody else has got one right now. We're going to struggle hard."
|
Re: Early Line for Wash/NE Game
i love it when the skins and coach play the poor , downtrodden thing. ill bet they will have some heted practices this week
The Pats have been covering those huge spreads all year.
I'm pretty sure they are 7-0 ATS. The only team that I think was close to covering was Clevleland (I'm pretty sure that was 16.5, and they won by 17)..... I mean sure its an "insult" and great locker room material....but these guys deserved to be favored by that much. I'm glad, I like being the big dogs. |

Oct. 28 Washington 1:15 p.m. at New England Favorite NE NE NE Point spread -16½ -16½ -16
I understand they are statistically the best team in memory, but 16½? Isn't that a little excessive? For the record, I'd probably bet the Pats, but still...
Through the first 6 games the Patriots have outscored opponents 230-92. No, that spread is NOT excessive. |
Re: Early Line for Wash/NE Game
sandjack, what was the spread when dallas played the pats?
|
Re: Early Line for Wash/NE Game
What the hell? You'd think the Pat's were playing Army.
We are gonna rock their world! Another round JJ |
This has to come down later in the week. We have the D to match up w/them.
Our offense is a different story, but 16.5 is crazy.
16.5 may seem high but like somebody said they have covered every single spread this year. They were 16.5 on the road against Miami. I know it's Miami but I don't think I have ever seen a home team in the NFL get 16.5. You can count on them scoring around 28 to 31 points and the oddsmakers look at us scoring around 13 or 14. |

Pats were -7. |

16 1/2 is not excessive. I've NEVER in my life bet against the Skins, (once won about $300 in a pool because I took the Skins over Rams, when they were the Greatest Show on Turf, and no one else did) but if I had to bet this game I'd parlay NE & the Over. |
Re: Early Line for Wash/NE Game
My guess is the odds makers have it about right. They figure the Pats are good for 30 and the Skins are good for about 14. The 1/2 is thrown in there to mess everyone up.
The bottom line is the Patriots will not score less than 4 TDs at home. The Skins have to find a way to intercept Brady (very hard this year) or create some turnovers to have a chance. THEN the Offense has to do something with those turnovers and score 4 or more TDs itself. |

Re: Early Line for Wash/NE Game
If the Skins O continues to be inept the D will be gassed by the mid-third quarter. If the Skins D is gassed things could get ugly.

And being the number 1 D in the junior conference isnt saying much now is it
So, the 4-2 Washington Redskins are equivalent to the 0-7 Dolphins? The Patriots have played ONE team with a winning record. Again, please don't confuse these statements with a belief that we are going to roll up on the Pats. If I were a betting man, I'd hit NE. I just think that number is pretty stunning, and says quite a bit about the confidence the gambling community has in New England. |
