Actually we don't. Even if we win out we might not make the playoffs. |
Re: Cool site - chances of Redskins making the playoffs
Looking at week 17's schedule it looks like with awin next week we'll get to play another SNF game to cap off the regualr season. How sweet would that be? The last 3 games of the season all shown nationaly. Plus tail gaiting is so much easier at 4pm then 9am, and brings more rowdyness from the fans.
NFL Schedule: Regular Season Besides being the only divison rivalry game with a possible playoff brith its likely a homefield advantage deciding game for Dallas too.
Yeah, but can't Fox protect a certain amount of games? Wouldn't it be more likely that the game would be moved to 4:15 and made (essentially) a national game with Aikman and Buck calling? Just asking, partly because I have a personal interest since I'm going to the game and wouldn't really want an 8:15 kick. |

NFL Flexible Scheduling Nope, neither Fox or CBS has "any say" in which games get flex'ed. It's up to the NFL. Kinda funny how the NFL says "after consultation with CBS, FOX, NBC", then says the NFL schedules all games. I guess in this case consultation is Roger Goodell on the phone says this is how it's going to work... |

If I remember right, 29 teams get a maximum of five primetime appearances per season. And three can get up to six (Pats and Cowboys have or will meet that number this season). So I think it would be very difficult to move the Cowboys vs. Redskins to primetime...but stranger things have happened. |
Re: Cool site - chances of Redskins making the playoffs
Didnt know it was this hard!
Now, on to flexing's rules. The NFL makes the game-swapping decisions. But CBS and Fox can each protect five of their regularly-scheduled Sunday afternoon games, but not two on the same weekend — and none for season-ending Week 17. There's more. Only three NFL teams can appear as many as six times in primetime — on NBC, ESPN or the league's own NFL Network — and no team can appear more than four times on NBC. And NBC can't pick up games already slated for primetime on ESPN or the NFL Network. I thought the Dallas Thanksgiving game was on CBS, if so that might not have counted towards the 6. The primetime games were three on NBC (Giants, Bears, Eagles), one on ESPN (Bills) and two on NFL Network (Packers, Panthers). |
If we win out there is an 81.5% chance we make the playoffs if we win out
(any of the follow need to happen as well) 1)Saints need to lose one 2)Giants need to lose out, If we go 8-8 our chances of getting in are 5.5%(There are a bunch of weird chances) 1)We lose to the Viks beat the Boys, the Viks lose to Denver and Chicago. Along with NYG losing out. 2)Thinking about more makes my head hurt lol....
hoo, I think I see your point. It all boils down to 23%, and hoping the Saints ain't got it! G-nomes, well, we already know what they ain't got! |
Re: Cool site - chances of Redskins making the playoffs
It seems simple to me, we win out and the saints lose one.

Re: Cool site - chances of Redskins making the playoffs
Here is another good explanation of the playoff scenario (which, of course, got much more simple with the Vikings' win last night):
