I think the real meaure of Saunders/Collins will come next week in MN. The weather tonight in NY limited what they could put together (as it would any offense), but next week we'll have an indore setting on turf.

As to the play-calling, yeah I think Saunders is definitely openning things up but, just as Gibbs has said explicitly in the past, he does "influence" what goes on offensively.

face it, TC + AS offense = effective
JC + AS offense = will take time

I still think Campbell is the route to take when healthy, but Collins has been very effective these past two games. I feel better about Collins decision making, and he just seems to make smart decisions out there. Campbell clearly has more upside, but Collins is certainly very capable.
It looks more like to me that Saunders finally has a QB who has the head to run his offense.
Come on, Collins has been in Saunders' system for what 7 years now, and Campbell has only been in it for two. Collins is a 37 year old vet who's seen it all, and Campbell is a 25 year old kid who's still learning. From what I hear Campbell is extremely bright and will only get better. Don't insinuate to me that he doesn't have the "head" to run this offense, young QB's just take time.

It's gonna be fun to see how Collins can move the ball against a bad Minnesota secondary in a dome with NO WIND this Sunday. We're gonna need to throw to open up the run, because the Vikes have the best run D in all the land.

The way we were clicking last night, we could have scored 40 if the elements weren't factored in. I think this is closer to how Al's offense should look. I'm still annoyed by the realization that he was tapering his playbook while JC was starting.

Well how many years before Campbell gets it? Brunell never figured it out and he was a seasoned vet. The whole purpose of sitting Campbell the first season and a half was to avoid throwing a QB out there who doesn't understand the offense. IMO Campbell has made some horrible decisions late in games and it wasnt because he didn't understand the offense, it was his inability to make the right decision that was presented before him. These type of decisions regardless of schemes are instinctive, to many are wrapped up in his physical abilities, but QB is about the ability to know and anticipate what the defense is going to do so you know which receiver to throw to, Collins has shown more ability to do that than any QB we have had since Gibbs 2. Receivers are not all of a sudden getting open because Todd is playing QB, Todd is able to find them and deliver the ball with accuracy, IMO we are going to be hearing the excuse that Campbell is still learning the offense for a long time.

Campbell was a first year starter. Not only is he adjusting to the offense he's figuring out how to play in the NFL. Have a little patience.
Well, TC was 8/25 for 6+ y/a today. Not a great day for the offense, but good enough to keep us in it.

Give all the credit to the defense. While the offense worked to keep us around, the defense made it not even close.
QB stats for a game like that you can just throw out the window but with Collins its tough because he has only played 1 1/2 games. What Collins brings to the table is that he knows the plays and where all the players should be. If you watch if he is looking down field he can just turn and knows where his 2nd & 3rd guys are on the field. JC might know at the start of the play but when you have to make decisions in a split second its tougher to remember where each man is. Thats the difference between a guy who is in a system for 7 years vers one who is in the system for 2. Its not a knock on JC its just a fact of life in the NFL.
