Re: To all you Gibbs doubters
I doubt very much it was gibbs who thought of challenging that play, but whoever did it,it was pure genious
Gibbs threw the little red flag, so he made the challenge. If we're willing to pin the blame on him for bad challenges, then we have to give him credit for one of the greatest challenges I've seen since replay was introduced to the NFL.

Re: To all you Gibbs doubters
Damn right Souper. I've been holding my head off-and-on all season in these kinds of situations - tonight I literally jumped over the coffee table when I saw Gibbs would win that challenge. He should get credit (along w/ whoever tipped him off). The whole team is extremely focused right now behind his leadership and focus.

I'm pretty sure I didnt post anything negative about gibbs after he blew the 2 timeout deal, and no,I dont have to give him credit for a good challenge when he didnt think of it,I will give him credit for listening to his coaches advice But Gibbs, on advice from coaches with replay access, challenged the play, claiming Minnesota had 12 men on the field. As proof, perhaps, that Gibbs's luck, on challenges, timeouts and when to go-for-it -- may have turned, the Redskins won the challenge. |
Re: To all you Gibbs doubters
Congratulations and Thank you guys ,I'd rather play in Tampa. As I have said before if you don't want Gibbs I;ll take him!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: To all you Gibbs doubters
This thread reminds me of guys who, after a win during a game chat, hunt down the people who made a negative comment or two when things were going wrong.
This was a sweet win, no doubt. But the thing that gets me is that this team only seems to respond when they're fighting for their last breath, when their backs are against the wall. Why can't they start strong and stay strong throughout for once? |
Re: To all you Gibbs doubters
you guys with yor 50,000 posts are a little to snobby for me. ease up a little bit.

Well it goes both ways of course. |

Why can't they start strong and stay strong throughout for once?
Well, this is the first time since early in the year we've had guys like Moss, ARE, Portis, etc. all in the lineup and all relatively healthy. Couple that with a QB who isn't turning the ball over and is great at managing the game and we seem to have found a formula for success. Better late than never. |
Re: To all you Gibbs doubters
I will say that this 3 game streak has been vintage Gibbs. Especially last night, maybe it was just me but I just had a gut feeling coming into last night that we would have an excellent game plan and it was our game for the taking. This team was prepared and bottled up the Vikings for nearly the entire game. Great job to all the coaches.

Re: To all you Gibbs doubters
I have nothing unique to say - just piling on. Seems like there are a bunch of threads that could be merged into a megathread.
I am glad that we got aggressive again. Toward the beginning of the 3rd quarter I thought "uh oh - here comes the prevent D and 3-and-outs". Thankfully we got our mojo back. |

Yes. Big props go to Gregg Williams, a guy who has faced some heat here at The Warpath. He devised a brilliant gameplan that completely neutralized Peterson and Taylor. He made Tavaris Jackson beat the Redskins. While Jackson responded with some good throws to pull a little closer, the strategy worked. |
Re: To all you Gibbs doubters
While I think that the original post may be unnecessary, there has been PLENTY of neg Gibbs for some time. I'm not much of a "I told you so", but.........that was damn funny. And..............the coaching staff and team deserve MONSTER props for overcoming possibly more adversity than any team before them to be standing on the door to the playoffs, and a successful season. It feels good, so roll around in the good stuff for a while
I am proud of them HTTR |

Let me throw some props to GW, seeing as I have been critical of him. He's been out of that Cover 2 (which I hate) and back to an aggressive 4-3 / 4-6 look since the Bears game. Having Landry back there as a true FS looks good, he can really cover some ground. I like the heat and showing 8 in the box. I think GW started to get a little conservative in the second half once Jackson made some throws and I thought we were going back to another second half collapse, but the O gave him some breathing room and he and the D pulled it together. We haven't faced any veteran QBs so I hope we can be successful in this defensive scheme against Hasselbeck and the Seahawks. |
