I guess he's ranked higher then i thought. Do we take a wr with our 1st rounder, probably not.
How about we have the Lions help us make our pick.
a big physical reciever and he is not on the slow side he is not Santana Moss but he is not Larry Fitzgerald either
um... sweed is not very good. slow, and his hands are horrible... more of a concentration issue i would imagine
4.55 is really slow :/ i don't really see anything from the games i watched to come close to wanting to throw a first round pick at him.
Jerry Rice ran a 4.7.

He's the greatest receiver in the history of the game. Just saying...

Anytime someone mentions taking a WR in the 1st round I crinch...Mike Williams, Charles Rogers, my mind is drawing a blank but its about 50/50 to get a decent one.

I don't know anything about Sweed but i do think we need a playmaker at the WR position. We do still have Brandon Lloyd though.

see though, the difference is that jerry rice was actually REALLY good, and walsh had a system that helped him out on that.

21. Washington Redskins
Record: 9-7
Scouts Inc.'s biggest needs: WR, DE, S, OT, CB
Projected pick: Limas Sweed, WR, Texas
The Redskins' top priority this offseason is to add a playmaking receiver to the roster. There projects to be a run of wide receivers in the bottom half of the first round before the shallow talent pool dries up and if the Redskins don't get involved here they're likely to get shut out of the wide receiver market. Sweed could become one of the steals of this year's draft; he possesses top-10 talent but will no doubt be undervalued due to a wrist injury that cut short his senior season but should have no long-term affects on his pass-catching ability.

I subconciously was referring to Rod Gardner. Throw RG into the semi busts. He was a 1st rounder right?

As of right now, I'd be happy with Limas Sweed. I like his size, but I wouldn't mind seeing him get his 40 time under 4.5. All these mock drafts are cute and everything, but SO MUCH changes after the combine, especially with speed positions. On a side note I love having a 6 draft picks this year. It feels so weird to have the entire draft carry this much significance for the Skins.

that's the truth, we won't know what to do w/ourselves w/6 picks!

I could see us getting a wr w/our first pick. Early indications are that the best DEs will probably be gone by then. The best value might be wr. Looks like there are a no. of good O linemen available in later rounds.

I would LOVE to get DE Vernon Gholston from Ohio St. I don't think he'll be around at #21, but I also don't think he'll go as high as #6, which is where McShay currently has him.

Hey, I just noticed the coincidence- we have the #21 overall pick? References to Sean are everywhere...

We just signed Anthony Mix to a 3yr. extention and I'm anxious to see just what promise he has. Further, I really don't think a WR will be high on their priority list. Much will depend on the FA WR's we already have.

Redsk1 - he was a first rounder - I was so mad at that draft because we needed a guard that year and Steve Hutchinson kept falling in that draft - when Hutchinson was available I was jumping for joy that he fell into our laps but instead of taking Hutchinson we took Gardner - I remember to this day the ESPN analysts questioning why we didn't take Hutchinson because they also thought the Skins needed a guard. I was surprised because Marty was in control at the time and that pick looked like it had Dan Synder written all over it (big, flashy receiver over badly needed lineman).
