Re: Sally Jenkins' Best article yet
You newbie posters really have no respect for what this site provides. Go to ExtremeSkins or another site and try to have reasonable debate without being censored or totally confused.
Yea mods will show there opinions but I disagree with them all the time, but I am still here. No bans or anything. Some threads might be shut down, but it is usually because there are duplicates, or if the thread is just simple bitching. No appreciation here I swear. If posters really find it annoying just leave. |
Well, I see this statement differently. Smootsmack said "Maybe she should start threads here, she'd fit right in." Maybe I am completely misunderstanding it.
When you combine all the critical analysis with the gloom and doom from some posters, maybe Sally would find refuge here. As I said before "charity starts at home". |
Re: Sally Jenkins' Best article yet
He's our Danny, and only we can bash him. Kind of like our kids.
The frantic defense of Lil' Danny and his 50-62 record is quite comical.
C'mon the article was pure bull and you know it. Making comments about Land of the Lost and Voltron toys. Here I shouldn't expect much I suppose, but Sally Jenkins is paid to write for one of the world's most prestigious and well-respected papers. And this is the best she can come up with? There's been plenty of continuity but all she wants to focus on is Williams (and to a lesser extent Saunders). F' her (but not in a good way). |
Re: Sally Jenkins' Best article yet
Best article yet? A 7th grader could have written this. I mean video game and Voltron references? If you looked up "hack" in the dictionary her picture should be there. This is supposed to be professional journalism? A 700 word attack on the owner with no thought or insight involved? I'm not a big Snyder fan at all, but this is a joke.
SmootSmack is right. We should invite her here and let her add to the "drivel." I'm still in amazement that the article I just read was actually printed in The Washington Post. |

I think you are confused about this site and forum sites in general if you think the mods have an obligation to be nice to you or anyone. It is us who owe them the good will for maintaining a place like this. As for the article, it's garbage. It's the same schtick she's been running for ages. Do some reporting and find out what is really going on - and then bash whoever based on that information. Don't just wildly speculate. And as for the folly of going after unproven assistants to be the headcoach (which is more speculation btw)? Uh, do you need me to explain why that's idiotic and uninformed based on recent NFL trends? |
Nice way to talk about your clientele(Basically calling us pieces of crap). So much for the customer is always right.
Clientele / customer? How much do you pay to view and post to this site? So Snyder is a "rich, arrogant, idiot" but you're getting your feathers ruffled over SS calling Jenkins' article crap and saying she'd fit in here? This doesn't make sense to me. |

I am also a customer of Snyder's and a very disgruntled one. |

First I wouldn't assume the Warpath is rolling in money. Bandwidth, servers and admin time have costs so I would bet at best Warpath is breaking even. I also have never seen a pop-up or ad other than the Tony McGee chat. Buying something through a link at the Wapath shop is the only visible sign of income I see other than the folks that pay to be VIPs. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it. That said, the only folks who are clientele, and the Mods need to answer to, are those VIPs. Whether or not you are a customer of Snyder's is irrelevent. This is not Fed-Ex Field, ExtremeSkins or Redskins.com. Not trying to dump on you, just stating facts. |

Well any money this site gets, none of it comes to me. That's for sure. They don't pay me enough to read this shit :) Anyhow, to make it as clear as possible. What I was saying was that in the past several weeks we've had some really crappy, stupid threads (and not because of the opinions, but the lack of any thought behind those opinions)-not coincidentally I think it all began with the "LaVar in 2008" thread-and Sally Jenkins' crappy article fits right into this trend of dumb threads we've seen here lately. But Sally is a paid professional so you would think she would execute at a higher level. Here I suppose not so much should be expected. As much as we try to ensure that this is "Discussion for the Knowledgeable Fan" too many reduce it (to steal a phrase from BleedBurgundy) to "Drivel for the Mindless Dolt." To be sure, we have some great members on this site. But then we have others who think it's their god given right to post whatever idiocies fall out their brain. Sorry to be harsh, but I am after all...El Malo |

Also, I was not saying that Warpath and the Redskins were related, I was justifing why I had the right to voice my opinion of our owner. |

The opinion has to have substance though, can't be the nonsense that Jenkins typed up And there is no money made here |
Re: Sally Jenkins' Best article yet
If there is one thing that Sally is good at, it is being critical of the Skins.
Unfortunately, in this case I think she is on the money. Browse through the WP comments (as well as the thread on this site) - the fan's perspective on this is almost unanimous. If there was to be an approval rating for the Boy right now, it would definitely be <10%. |
Re: Sally Jenkins' Best article yet
I believe anyone has the right to say that they want, stupid or not. Just like everyone has the right to not agree with them. But like I said in the Detroit thread, people love to pile on when everything's going wrong. Yet when everything's going right, those some people who love to crap on the team are nowhere to be seen.
And that's not to say that the people who are saying what Snyder is doing is crap, aren't going to come around and eat their share of crow if things pan out. Because a lot of those people are a pretty well-respected crew around here who will eat a piece of humble pie when necessary. Everyone has the right to say Snyder is a terrible owner and that our front office is run by a bunch of monkeys. Just like everyone has the right to say that that idea is a bunch of crap. I don't know why people get so jaded when they realize people might think differently than they do. |

I could see that ridiculous drivel in a junior high newspaper, but the Post? What the heck? "You know how sometimes kids stare in their food and see a face in it? Maybe that's how Snyder will make a head coaching hire: He'll see the face of the next coach in a grilled cheese sandwich." Are you kidding? Do you really consider crap like that quality journalism? :vomit: How could I have believed the title of this thread? I should've known better. |
