Re: Someone has to bring it up....
Tremendous talent does no good if it is in:
A) jail B) suspended by the NFL C) in a strip club; either "makin it rain" or punching dancers. Stay away, far away from Pacman. |
Re: Someone has to bring it up....
What if we kept him locked in a cage and only let him out for practice and games.

Re: Someone has to bring it up....
So that I don't get accused of a double standard because I cautioned the idea of signing Chad Johnson, let me say first that everyone deserves a second chance. To me, potential problem players have to be evaluated on:
1) impact on team chemistry, e.g. TO has no legal issues, just a history of alienating teamates 2) impact of off field problems & likelihood of recurrence Pacman's issues to my knowledge are in (2), but I've never heard of him being a 'bad teamate' when he's w/the team. He knows that he can't screw up again (not that that's stopped him before), so if there is any intelligence & discipline left in his small mind, he'll get it together. I think it's worth it for the front office to interview him & if they think he's changed enough, offer him an extremely incentive laden contract & offer Tenn. an incentive laden trade deal w/a conditional futue pick. Something like, if he is on the roster at the end of the year, Tenn. gets a 4th or 5th rnd. pick. If not, they get a 7th rnd. pick or cash. |
Re: Someone has to bring it up....
If some of you think Chad Johnson is a problem Pacman the devil himself
|
Re: Someone has to bring it up....
I'd rather play with John Jansen and Casey Rabach at corner. And I am not even remotely kidding. I'd sooner see Brandon Lloyd line up behind the center and run the freaking wing t option with Heath Shuler as the Tail back.

Any news from PFT can wait.
Please god no...I honestly can't think of a player in the world I want less!
You haven't seen me run the 40. |
Re: Someone has to bring it up....
I don't think so.
I hate Jones but he is a top 5 cover cornerback and an elite punt returner. Guys with that kind of talent will always get breaks. I personally hope he is done with football, but He isn't because he can play at a high level.
That talent didn't help the Titans this last year and I don't think he'll behave any better if he plays with the Redskins. He's just a waste of talent.... |
Re: Someone has to bring it up....
Everybody does deserve a second chance, but I'd much rather see Pacman get his opportunity [If he get's one] somewhere else. I would not like to see him in Burgandy & Gold.

Re: Someone has to bring it up....
DUMB question to even ask.
I disagree, his talent level (potential top CB in the whole league) makes it a question worth being brought up. |

Besides pretty soon Pacmans trade value will be on par with Michael Vicks. At this point its only a matter of time. |
Re: Someone has to bring it up....
no thanks..the video game pacman has been more impressive than pacman himself.
we don,t need a problem child here.. |

Even if Stevens was a choir boy, you can't really defend that he still deserves to be playing in the NFL. The fact that he's a terrible person just makes it downright insane that he has any support inside this league.
Pac Man may be a terrible person, but he's good at football. Jerramy Stevens is not. Of course, a good counter argument would be that missing a year of football is a guarantee to severely retard ones development as a football player. |
