I think people are forgetting that Grimm left here because he disliked the way Snyder did business. I doubt his mind has changed on that.
is that really true ? i thought grimm was already gone before snyder purchased the skins.
Listening to Bram Weinstein [sp] on Redskins Radio last night, I was left with the impression he felt most of the fan frustration has been directed towards the wrong person. He said Joe Gibbs should be taking some of the heat for leaving Mr. Snyder and the Redskins organization in the lurch this way. Maybe had they had some idea Gibbs was just going to up-and quit, they could have had some irons in the fire.

He was almost apealing to Joe Gibbs to come back and fix this mess he's left the team in. [though he knows that's not going to happen] One lady caller went as far to say it was a mistake for Snyder to bring Gibbs back in the first place, knowing it was going to be short lived and the eventual possibility for the very situation we're faced with now.
Even if Gibbs did resign early we should have implemented the plan that Gibbs had in place, which was promoting from within. Gibbs had a plan of stability in place and that plan was quickly discarded for reasons unbeknowst to many.

I would have to disagree with any heat that may be placed on Gibbs for this situation.

Maybe one day we will know why Snyder did not follow Gibbs plan, and if Gibbs actually recomended that Gregg Williams become his successor. I only mentioned it because it gives a little more insight into how different people are thinking.

The longer this goes on the less credible any head coach becomes if it is not someone who appears to be an obvious choice.. The longer it goes, the more it becomes clear Gregg Williams should have gotten the job at least in the short term.. But that's water under the bridge now..

This piece is especially evident. While I wouldn't go so far as to say "Snyder hater", I squarely blame him for the current state of disarray. At this point, every coach will come in with some warts, and Snyder will take some heat.

I pray that he learns to keep his money in, but his "two-cents" out. He has every right to be involved, but if wants to produce a WINNING program, then he needs to let the football brain-trust do their work. Heck, he might enjoy playing on the field a little too, but it won't help produce W's.

Honestly, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Ali Haji-Sheikh was announced as the HC. Nothing VinnyDAN does surprises me any longer.

I have doubts it would be Grimm, I would have figured some of you guys that live in the DC area would hear whispers by now.
Why has no mention been made of McDaniels? (I didn't want to start a thread about that, but I would have liked to hear that we at least interviewed him)

McDaniels didn't want to interview for a head coaching job. He wants another year at least

That sucks...I thought he could do wonders for our offense and open things up.
Oh well, guess we're stuck with possible coaches that other teams really don't want.

I'm not going to blindly say Grimm is the guy b/c quite honestly i don't know much about him as a coach. The thought intrigues me but i don't know.

For some of you to say the owners were caught off guard by JG's retirement, well they shouldn't have been. As talked about in another thread, as an athletic director or owner you should always have a future potential HC list going...at all times. Especially, w/ JG's w/ his age and family issues.

Maybe if he were to bring Brady, Moss, Welker, Maroney, his whole offensive line. If he did that, man he would make our offense great.

In all seriousness, I could do ok w/ their talent. He's only been an o coord for 1 year or 2.

Re: Bram Speculates That It May Be Grimm

Can anyone believe this thread? I mean think about it... a reporter assumed by putting 2 and 2 together that Snyder MAY HAVE talked to Grimm after the HOF presser and is therefore speculating that Grimm may be a candidate. I know that as a diehard fan amongst other diehard fans (for the most part) I would absolutly love the likes of Grimm to come over and be our HC. Just as much as I would like Doug Williams or Darrell Green to do so. Keeping it "in the family" is a very attractive approach but come on, are we going to think anyone Snyder talks to in the next few weeks is a possible coaching candidate? Can you see the headlines: "Dan Snyder's mechanic to be named next head coach after routine tune up. Sources say he was seen talking to him last week."
