Compensatory picks - the new Redskins off season acquisitions!

A team cannot trade compensatory picks. Redskins Pick Up a 3rd-Rounder Get someone to read it to you. Go away |
Re: Compensatory picks are in
I would still love it if they could swing a deal w/Atl. to pick up 2 2nd rounders for our 1st. That would be 10 picks w/5 in the first 3 rounds.

Why is he here anyway? why don't he and the Cowboy fan start there own site together , and irritate each other and leave us Great Redskins fans alone. |
Re: Compensatory picks are in
Who's going to be best available at that number 96 spot?
|
Re: Compensatory picks are in
We have a second round pick, but no 4th. The extra 3rd round pick is great news.
This is EXCELLENT news! Let's make the most of these picks and build up some much-needed depth and find some future Burgundy & Gold legends.
I can't agree with this more. It's a real treat to have a ton of picks...for a change. |
Re: Compensatory picks are in
Let's hope we do a little better than the last time we had this many picks:
2002 1(32) Patrick Ramsey 2(56) Ladell Betts 3(79) Rashad Bauman (CB) 3(87) Cliff Russell (WR) 5(159) Andre Lott (DB) 5(160) Robert Royal 6(192) Reggie Coleman (OT) 7(230) Jeff Grau (TE) 7(234) Greg Scott - (DE) 7(257) Rock Cartwright Since the 7 round draft began in 1994, we have had: '94: 7 Picks, 4 in the first three rounds - 7(4) 95: 8 (3) 96: 6 (1) (The one high pick was Andre Johnson - Blecchh)(A Cerrato pick) 97: 8 (3) 98: 7 (2) - No First Rounder 99: 6 (2) 00: 8 (3) - Two First Rounders (Arrington, Samuels) 01: 5 (2) 02: 10(4) - See above 03: 3(2) - No First (T. Jacobs, D. Dockery, G. Hamdan) 04: 4(2) - (Cooley, Taylor) 05: 6(2) - Two Firsts (Rogers Campbell) 06: 6(1) - No First (McIntosh in the 2nd) 07: 5(1) I hope we can get some good hits early. I don't know though - we haven't been overwhelmingly successful in the 2-3 rounds. |

Aww C'Mon man! We just give this site "character" is all. You gotta have a least a little contraversy to provide some flavor! Honestly though, a third round draft pick is nothing to sneeze at. That should be a good spot. |
Re: Compensatory picks are in
One of those picks needs to be spent on Joe Flacco. I just finished watching all of Jason Campbell's passes this past season on my TIVO and I took some notes and noticed that he telegraphs his passes 65% of the time. I told you guys when we drafted him, he's not smart enough to be an NFL starting QB. Joe Flacco got a 27 on his Wonderlic.
Here's my mock 1-Calais Campbell 2-Chilo Rachal 3-Joe Flacco 3-We need offensive line help If Gibbs wasn't so clueless and traded for Duckett we could have a 4th rounder too. |
Re: Compensatory picks are in
Thank you god, hopefully we won't waste picks on guys like Dallas Sartz.
|
Re: Compensatory picks are in
Nice bonus. That extra third rounder could be very helpful. I think you can get something really good with that pick. And I'm not frowning on the extras in the seventh either. SWEET!

Correct. Hopefully we can do like every other team and draft all starters with every pick we have. |
