at least saban did stay two years unlike patrino who left 12 games into last season.
jimmy johnson is the best nfl coach ever to go into the nfl.he had an asshole as an owner and still won 2 superbowls.

Our man Spurrier was number 3. Oh, and that coach out of Dallas didn't even place. Not Johnson, the other one.

I might if I get a chance to see it but I bet that with Spurrier they showed a lot of Ramsey getting sacked. Maybe a quote from Wilbon saying something like "He didn't protect the QB and he didn't run the ball."

I was watching the "America's Game" series on NFL Network the other night on the '93 Cowboys. Jimmy Johnson was one of the three interviewees, and he said that immediately after winning the Super Bowl he wasn't sure if he wanted to come back. He said that he never coached anywere longer than five straight years, and thought it might be time to move on. A night at a bar drinking with Jerry Jones got pretty heated, and apparently things were said which helped Johnson out the door. Officially, it was a mutual parting.

Good thing too -- the 'chips might have won two more in a row if he'd stayed. As much as I hate to admit it, they had a helluva team.

Considering Johnsons philosophy on getting young this makes alot of sense. He knew how to build a team, but not how to rebuild it. Could you honestly see him getting rid of the tripplets for youth had he stayed longer (a few more seasons)? According to his ideals on youth he would have had to. He was too close to his stars for that IMO (based on player commentary).

I looked, and couldn't find the list on the net. I know that Spurrier came in 3rd, or 4th on the list. I caught part of it while mindlessly filpping through channels. It comes on today (Apr 16th) at 5:30 again. I'll try to catch it and post the list, if nobody finds it.

Okay I saw it last night before I dosed off. I'll edit this post later to compile a list but lets see. I remember Spurrier was definately 3. There were two Patriot coaches. One being Pete Carroll and the other being some guy who used to coach at Syracuse. Lou Holtz was #2. Most of the coaches were criticized for being to ra ra. One of the reporters wanted to fight Nick Saban. Another from Houston looked like an idiot. And the rest were fine.

This list is loosely based on what I remember, but the top 3 are 100% correct.

I saw the title on my DirecTV guide and it looks like they changed the title of this to "Top Ten Coaches Who Belonged in College"

I thought it was "Top Ten Coaching Flops" when they promo'ed it. Maybe someone caught feelings and asked for them to use a euphemism.
