Re: Brian Urlacher: Where's the Outrage?
Honestly, I just read about this and for me Urlacher is worse than CJ. CJ wants to go to a winner, Urlacher is just greedy.

Re: Brian Urlacher: Where's the Outrage?
This reminds me of.... oh wait there is no one on the Skins complaining about their salaries. In fact, if I am not mistaken, we just restructured several contracts. This is for all you Gibbs II sceptics: He didnt have free agency when he was coaching but he learned quickly how to take his player's minds off of free agency and put them in the mindset to play for each other and the franchise. While the Bears and Bengals are distracted the Skins are thinking football. This is what the new Gibbs brought to us!!!
And a little more on topic, I agree with Matty, the situations are different and I believe that when its all said and done, Urlacher will play regaurdless and CJ will either be sitting out or on the trading block all season (or at least till week 6). |

I don't buy that for a second. CJ wants to get paid - this is just the excuse of the moment. |
Who let Latrell Spreewell in here?
Ladell, Lavar, and Laveranues...that's who! I also saw Lamont Sanford getting called a "Big Dummy" on another thread for making posts that "lack substance". |

Then it becomes obvious that you have not been paying attention. The only people that have said anything about money is the media and us spectators. Yes NFLTA is the media. They asked him the question about money. |

uh.....thats crazy talk. Lets keep the coolaid drinking to a minimum, its starting to cloud your judgement |

When was the last time a “big time” player got traded and there wasn’t a new deal involved? Every year the ceiling on salaries escalates and some guys insist that they are in the new tier all the time. The notion that he would be necessarily be happy with received a deal signed in ’06 is laughable. How long did it take TO to want a new deal from Philly? |

You don't make sense - are you saying I can't have an opinion on this? |
Re: Brian Urlacher: Where's the Outrage?
They are both wrong, ok (see, no caps)? If someone had brought it up here, I’m sure opinion would have been addressed. The only difference I see is that Urlacher is a least being completely up front on his motive.
This crap about CJ wanting out to get a ring is an “I want a new deal” smokescreen. There is no way he goes to a new club without a new contract. When he says “I’ll take less to go to Pittsburgh (or some similar contender)” then I’ll believe it. Otherwise, it’s just a new way to pull an old trick.

When was the last time a “big time” player got traded and there wasn’t a new deal involved? That's right, why just yesterday I found out that our parking fee at work was going to go from $100 to $200 a month. Naturally I was upset so I told my boss "I need a raise, I need to feed my family." |
Re: Brian Urlacher: Where's the Outrage?
honestly, the Bears should have known this and reworked his deal after giving Briggs the big extension. If you looked to your right or left and saw a guy making more money than you, and you are the best LB on the team (top 5 in the NFL at your position) wouldn't you be a little pissed. I dont blame him for wanting more money. I blame the Bears for not addressing this when it should have been addressed.

With you. This is just a new method of contract holdout. Just because he didn’t mention money doesn’t mean that’s not the motivation. Is anyone going to dispute that any trade would be contingent on a new contract? Does anyone think he is going to take less in a new deal that takes him 3-5 years in the future? |
Re: Brian Urlacher: Where's the Outrage?
Both situations are different, and the big difference is we don't hear Urlacher on every TV and radio show whining about wanting out.
Ok, but did we hear Lav Coles on every tv and radio show? Yet, wasn't there a whole thread here about what a jerk he is? |

I am not saying that you cannot have an opinion. I am saying that it has been noted that he is not doing this for money, and despite those reports you still affirm that he is in fact doing this for money. Edit* This whole dialog is based on what you said about CJ. How does it not make sense? |
