Dallas Cowboys? He better play like Smoot or we will have to ship him to them.

It would be nice to have D.Green coach him up like he did Smoot.
he like the Cowboys, what a coincidence.
But really I like the fact that the FO finally went defense. Tryon seems like a good cover corner from what I've read and he'll be a pretty good nickelback and step in and do a good job. There's no telling when Rogers will be back so drafting a CB in one of these rounds was a neccesity
Loyalty tends to change hands in a situation like this. The guy wants to play in the NFL and the Redskins are giving him a pretty good shot to contribute. In turn he'll be loyal to the team.

Remember Shawn Springs probably grew up as a Cowboys fan.

I like the pick though. It's a typical late round Redskins pick, a guy who was productive with a lot of talent, but still has some warts (size).

It says he runs a 4.5 40. Small and slow. Instead of taking Dre Moore, with our original pick, we do this? This guy was projected to be a 7th rounder or a free agent.

Scouts Inc has him at a 4.4

For what we need at Corner, he's a good pick.

He's not the be all end all here by any stretch of the imagination, we will need to fill Springs' shoes next season, but I'm OK with Tryon at nickel until Rogers can get healthy.
I knew the DG comparison was coming. Honestly though, 5'9 is way too small for a corner. He needs at least 2 more inches to be an impact in this league now.
The PAC-10 doesn't have any receivers over 6'.....did you read the analysis:

The former junior college transfer instantly became ASU's top cover cornerback, starting all 26 games during his two seasons with the Sun Devils. He proved to be an effective run support defender who simply loved the challenge of taking on receivers much bigger than him. In 2007, his main pass coverage assignments featured four receivers who stood at least 6-feet-4 and five who were 220 pounds or more.

The 5-9 cornerback allowed the opposition to complete just 31.13 percent of the passes thrown into his area during his final campaign (33-of-106). Tryon was just as capable of covering the top receiver on deep routes, but also excelled in press coverage, rerouting his man away from 54 potential catches, in addition to breaking up or intercepting 19 other throws. He allowed a miniscule 3.74 yards per pass attempt vs. him as a senior.

I like the pick, fills a major need IMO. Kid looks like he has excellent potential.

That was a good breakdown. He seems to be a little better than I thought, but I still believe we reached a little for him, we probably could have easily gotten him in the 5th or 6th.

Westbrook was not that bad and I expect him to look even better this yr. I think the 3; Torrence, Westbrook, and Eubanks will have to step it up this yr.

I'll bet watching Laws and Harrison go right before our picks had something to do with getting him here.

Dixon? ...Have you read Pro-Footballs take on him? My mag said character issues, so I went to the Pro Prospects Review. They don't paint a pretty picture of him.
