Re: Jeremy Shockey is a Saint
If it weren't for his mouth, I doubt the Giants would have traded Shockey. Boss is not a replacement for Shockey. Maybe in the future, but not now.
So, the only question is his mouth. Can he keep it shut? Payton knows him better than almost anyone, so you've got to give him the benefit of the doubt. |
Just thought Id mention that on March 24th this was posted by me. PFT is not always BS. Im glad to see Shockey go, I don't have to listen to the announces talk about him all the time anymore.
ummm, how could you have posted this on march 24 when it just happened today? is it really that important to you that it be known that you were the first person to mention, on this forum, what at that point was nothing more than speculation? well, fine. CAN WE GET A ROUND OF E-APPLAUSE FOR WARPATH PLEASE? |
Re: Jeremy Shockey is a Saint
???Several more years(???) .....hell I'd be happy with one,at 27 he has'not finished a full season yet! I told all of you this would happen,he's nothing but a jerk ...yes he is most likely one of the top 3 TE's in the league but his route running sucks and he's a freaking head case.Look what he's mad about...the Giants would'nt let him on the sidelines during the super bowl.....No one injured on either team was aloud on the side lines ...he didn't go to the ring cerimony ,or to meet the Prez....good riddens and that should also save us 2 penilties a game.
Not letting him on the side lines was a team decision and if I played for a team and helped them get to the SB I would be ticked if they did that to me. |

I know he's a headcase but I think Payton knows how to handle him. More importantly I think Payton knows how to use him. And so what if he didn't go to all that stuff. That wouldn't bother me. |

Maybe but he's a step slower and always hurt and as for the other stuff the rest of the "team" cared .....why would you want someone who is more about himself then the team? |
Re: Jeremy Shockey is a Saint
The "emergence of Kevin Boss" was a handful of games where he made some nice plays. By no means is he on Shockey's level. Maybe he's a better fit w/Eli cause he doesn't demand the ball, & talk all the time, but he's certainly not the player Shockey is.
I think the G men had quite a run last year in which they got everybody to chip in. I can't see them playing at that level for a whole season. If Plax is slowed by injuries their recieving corps is really thin. Maybe they had to trade him, but they will miss Shockey's ability. |
Re: Jeremy Shockey is a Saint
I mean, Shockey hated it there once they won the super bowl without him. But objectively, this is a bad move for the giants. I don't care what boss did over 6 games. He isn't Shockey. Shockey is a little bitch tho and if he were a skin i probably would want him off if he was having a little hissy fit.
Saints offense has the potential of being off the charts. We got to paly them early in the year. This makes the first 5 games even scarier for us. If we get out of the first 5 games alive then we will be very very fortunate. |
Re: Jeremy Shockey is a Saint
Looking at Boss's stats I'm suprised. Giant fans played him up. He had 5 catches for 90 yards and 0 TDs over the 4 playoff games. Shockey would do that in one game. Boss is a back-up and the pressure is on for him to perform now. I hope he sucks.

Yeah, as long as he's not dancing who cares what he does on his own time, right? |

They dog it because while on the one hand they have a legitimate story with a credible source like the Shockey rumor they also don't hesitate to say "A reader called in to say he's heard Favre is a done deal to the Redskins" There's no filter. |

lol nice Sorry skinsfan69 but you're coming off like a big hypocrite here. Shockey whined his way outta NY and was a problem child and you're fine with that. Jason Taylor went on a TV show and that's a huge issue to you. I don't get it. |

Re: Jeremy Shockey is a Saint
This is good for both teams. NO gave up a 2nd rounder which is very fair and the NYG really didn't need him cause of he emergence of the late round draft pick in Boss. NO is going to have a pretty explosive offense this year.
Wait wait wait wait wait.. So the Taylor trade is ass-awful because we gave up 2 draft picks (spread over 2 drafts) for a perennial pro bowler who is extremely durable and fits an immediate need BUT NO giving up a 2nd and a 5th in 2009 for an injury prone malcontent who was no better than the 3rd best TE in his division is 'very fair'?!?!? Just wow. Ok, back in the real world.. I'd love to hear Giants fans convince me now that they are better than 3rd or 4th in the division. They lost 2 players that were top 10 at their position (Strahan & Shockey), 2 LB and a starting safety. Their star WR is upset at his contract and hardly practices anyways. Add in a Super Bowl hangover and they've got 6-10 written all over them.. |
