Re: Your final 53
Rob Jackson on the Practice Squad scares me. He can be picked up to any team's roster from there, right? I'm sure he'll be gone. I say we keep him on the roster and take a chance.
Or trade him to the Patriots for THE ADE!
we have the choice to match any offer any other team offers him, but i agree, i think we shoukd keep him on |

Wonderful. What do we have of value that we can offer if the Patriots offer THE ADE? We're screwed if we put him on the PS. (Then again, we'd solidify the secondary with a Shut-Down corner and Special Teams Deamon). Practice squad it is! |
Re: Your final 53
So, nobody thinks that Wade makes the cut? Even with Geisinger and Crummey being able to be put on the practice squad and Zorn's comments about needing veteran depth on the o-line?
Just wondering? GTRIPP, I agree about Fincher. The guy is always around the ball. Now that Alexanders back is hurting it makes it even more likely. |
Post your roster predictions here. Here's my final 53.
QB (3): Campbell, Collins, Brennan RB (4): Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Mason FB (1): Sellers TE (3): Cooley, Davis, Yoder WR (6): Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Kelly, Thomas, McMullen OL (9): Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Jansen, Fabini, Heyer, Rinehart, Geisinger DL (8): Taylor, Carter, Griffin, Montgomery, Golston, Alexander, James, Evans LB (6): Fletcher, McIntosh, Washington, Blades, Campbell, Sinclair CB (6): Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon, Richardson S (4): Landry, Doughty, Moore, Horton K: Suisham P: Brooks Snapper: Albright Edit: switched out Wilson for Evans.
Excellent!! I totally agree with you on this. Except. Tryon has to truly step his game up!!! I like Justin Hamilton so far..But the number dictate he is likely going to be on the PS. |
Re: Your final 53
I want one more game before I make my cuts. I'm leaning toward 6 WRs but I'm not sure who the last one is. Of course, I'm not married to keeping the two draftees. 2nd round picks have gotten cut before. I'd also be more comfotable with 10 OL than 9. It's a shame we can't stash a few guys on IR.

Thanks for the reminder..I missed that..I would hope Jackson continues to produce if he does Evans or Wilson might be in jeopardy. Thanks!!! I think I have a stalker..:smashfrea |

I think I have a stalker..:smashfrea
Evans is a lock. He is firmly entrenched as a 3rd down DT over Golston and Monty. I suspect Wilson is in bubble trouble. |
Re: Your final 53
I would rather have rob jackson if he shows he;s better in camp and in preseason.. Yes he got us 4 sacks last season but Rob Jackson is younger and was a draft pick.. there is going to be alot of good players cut from teams so it's not like a bunch of teams in the NFL will be waiting for other teams to cut players, because they will have to be cutting players too!

He's not stalking you. He's correcting your inconsistencies, reading your pm's to be sure that they are not inflammatory, checking your ip to ensure you're not a previously banned individual, tracking down your home address so that he can notify the authorities in case you become violent, following your every move as a purely preventive measure ... oh wait. |
Re: Your final 53
I'm surprised so many of you are keeping McMullen.
I believe that spot is better used as O-Line depth. We have so many quality backups and after last year, it's smart to keep as many as possible on the roster. With Moss, El, Thrash and the 2 rookies, that's plenty of hands to catch the ball...plus Portis is supposed to catch 50+ (would be career high), then we have 2 or 3 TEs to receive with Cooley being a huge part of the offense...then Betts and maybe even Sellars occasionally. Campbell has plenty of quality targets. I'd add in Wade and leave off McMullen. |

We're keeping 6 and right now it looks like McMullen has the inside shot since no one else has distinguished themselves and Mix is banged up. I'd be shocked if a WC offense HC went into his first season with only 3 serviceable WRs. |

My thoughts exactly. We have enough flexibility on the OL with guys like Heyer, Fabini, and Rinehart who are all capable of playing multiple positions. Right now WR seems like a bigger need area. |
Post your roster predictions here. Here's my final 53.
QB (3): Campbell, Collins, Brennan RB (4): Portis, Betts, Cartwright, Mason FB (1): Sellers TE (3): Cooley, Davis, Yoder WR (6): Moss, Randle El, Thrash, Kelly, Thomas, McMullen OL (9): Samuels, Kendall, Rabach, Thomas, Jansen, Fabini, Heyer, Rinehart, Geisinger DL (8): Taylor, Carter, Griffin, Montgomery, Golston, Alexander, James, Evans LB (6): Fletcher, McIntosh, Washington, Blades, Campbell, Sinclair CB (6): Springs, Smoot, Rogers, Torrence, Tryon, Richardson S (4): Landry, Doughty, Moore, Horton K: Suisham P: Brooks Snapper: Albright Edit: switched out Wilson for Evans.
I agree with everything except the omission of Jackson. Some how they need to keep him, and I doubt he will make the practice squad. I heard Vinny say that they may only keep five linebackers. That was probably before camp started, not sure if that is feasable. |

There's a consensus heere that Wade is washed up. If the team feels that Heyer can contniue to improve, I wouldn't mind keeping him around longer. He's the only atheletic OT we have other than Samuels. However, I am impressed with with Crummey, Rinehart, and Geisinger. Alexander looked good playing on the DL. Many believe that you don't put a rookie fourth round pick on the PS. This is were Tryon belongs. He shouldn't garner much interest because he is no where being ready to play this game. I also believe Mason will edge Cartwright on the depth chart but Cartwright will be the team's kickoff return specialist. I'll say this too. Thrash is taking up a valuable roster spot. We need to make him a position coach next off season. |
