If you thought Rogers got beat a lot what did you think of Smoot then??
He got beat, a lot.. but at least he got an interception. Even though our O did nothing with it.
Again, good analysis. You said no hits on Manning, referring to no times when he was hit just after releasing or what? I thought Doughty got to him just after the juggling completion to Plax.. Considering 2 starters were coming off of knee surgeries (that most had projected them out until October), one was missing (Springs) one was at about 80% health (Taylor) and one playing his first real football since January (Landry), maybe they didn't play so badly after all.

Now if Rogers can ever learn to catch the ball we may have something.
Yeah. A hit refers to any time that Manning would be hit and go to the ground following a pass.

I didn't chart a hit, but based on how quickly the feed leaves the quarterback after the throw, that doesn't mean one never happened.

Hey Gtripp, just curious did you chart the attempts vs. completions on our corners? I'd be interested to see the exact breakdown of how Rogers and Smoot did.
Great post GTripp!

If you do this for all the games, will you do a do a success rate summary for the major points of our past games so we can track progress (or regression)?

Thanks man!
That was my plan when I started.

There's no way I'll be able to put as much time into all my reviews as I did this one, because I was charting all the formations and stuff and it took me 8 hours. But I'll definately be keeping track of success rate as the season goes along.

I didn't total those yet, and I have to run to class right now, but I should post those numbers sometime during MNF tonight.

so you rather let two Wr's Plax & Smith catch 10+ balls on a corner Smoot with a pick, instead of a corner getting caught on a couple of times no pick? Let me remind you that the pick Smoot got was a gift he didn't work for it, he didn't jump a route or anything Eli threw it to him.

Great post. As I've said before, the D should get better and better as we go along. No panic here.

Great job, Gtripp. Nice analysis.

Check out Dillweed's take here: Defensive Breakdown: Redskins vs Giants | postgameheroes.com

He thinks it's more Carter that's having trouble with the run, though no doubt having two undersized DEs is an issue.

How can we have no hit's on the QB but have two sacks?

I wasn't making it seem that way, so relax. I'm just pointing out that Matty is always right.

Honestly, all I could ask for from Carlos is to HOLD ON to interceptions. He's great in run support and seems to always have great coverage.
