Re: 2008 Pres Candidate Talking Points
For the Record, I have CNN in my face all day every day. I hear what the candidates are saying, more so than I want to. That is probably part of reason that I did not reference the links when I got them.

maybe, but i think the bigger issue is the current sacrifice nothing mentality, and the whole, "it's cool, our grandkid's will pay for it" passing of the buck by both parties - and that no one is even hinting that they're interested in fixing it since it might hurt their poll numbers. so we get childish insult hurling instead :/. yay us. |
Re: 2008 Pres Candidate Talking Points
Who on earth would want the govt to raise taxes?Unless you werent paying taxes in the first place.{He who robs peter to pay paul can always count on pauls support}

A government that is so big that it can give you everything. Can also take everything you have! thomas jefferson

Re: 2008 Pres Candidate Talking Points
facts are, no matter who inherits the white house has one helluva a mess to try and fix. no matter what both the candidates say about the economy, the wall street mess will be hard to cure. one wrong decision, and it could be catastrophic. and only a few days ago we were worried about some lipstick. at least now they will be sticking to real issues. or at least, i hope

Re: 2008 Pres Candidate Talking Points
doubt it (on sticking to issues) cause that would upset people, and polls are all that matter...
35trillion in unfunded medicare obligations, insanely backwards social security, 12billion a month in a war that china's paying for, AND the government just bought it's third failing financial company with YOUR money. maybe if we bury our heads just a little farther into the sand it'll all go away, cause, you know, that's never worked before, but maybe this time it will... :/ |

Just because a person says they are Republican does not mean they are conservative. Bush is not a conservative. McCain is not a conservative. If your going to throw around the word no what it really means. |

Yeah I think many people have gotten away from those traditional definitions. People need to read up on our political history, back to the days of the democratic-republicans and the federalists. It is very interesting how both parties have progressed and developed into what we see today. |
