Re: My one complaint about yesterday's win.
The Skins knew they had the score and time on their side. As long as they kept Dallas from scoring fast with one big play and having lots of time left on the clock for their D to hold or get a turnover then they knew they had a chance. I though the Skins D did exactly what it needed to do to win.
This was the best game I have seen the Skins play vs a quality opponent in a very long time. |
Re: My one complaint about yesterday's win.
If they had got that on side kick, which they almost did, we probably lose. I just think when your up by 9, keep the pedal to the medal. No reason to just let Romo sit back there and have 10 minutes to scan the field and pick out his wr's. Especially since we were abusing their wr's for most of the day. Playing not to lose is only going to get you beat. We've seen enough of that on offense the last 4 years.

Re: My one complaint about yesterday's win.
Prevent. It sucks. My only complaint I had was on the "on side kick." A couple a yrs ago I saw a team kick this and the receiving team showed fair catch. When the kicking team came pushing through and hit the returner it was a foul. I kept saying make sure the returner closest to the ball call fair catch. I'm not sure if it would have impacted the Dallas player if he caught the ball but knowing it was coming and it looked like we were not ready for it. We should have had a line of guys ready to plow the 'boys when they ran up.

Blache knows what he's doing, end of discussion! We have won three straight games, and thats what I am looking at! Although I wanna see Landry get a pick!

Re: My one complaint about yesterday's win.
ok, end of discussion. i was hoping to have alil more indepth conversation about our D scheme and pressure on the qb but your right, as long as were winning lets keep posts to "yahoooo we are on a roll" or "portis is da man" both of which are so very true!!!
go skins!! |

go skins!!
I said that the pressure was there at times we just didn't get the sacks. AC put a pretty good lick on him near the end and he was hit and flushed out several other times as well. He's not the easiest QB to sack because he's pretty elusive and does a good job at getting the ball out quick. But overall I thought the plan was to play a ton of cover 2 man and make them march down the field on long drives. They want the long ball though and I think Blache's gameplan frustrated them. I'm not sure that we'll ever see Blache dialing up a ton of exotic blitz packages like Grilliams. It's just not his style. He's more of a straight up defensive playcaller. |
Re: My one complaint about yesterday's win.
yeah that carter hit was Vicious, romo popped up pretty quick but you could tell that one got him good.

Re: My one complaint about yesterday's win.
Let's also not forget that we were down our #1 and #3 CB, and had Doughty playing nickle at the end there . . . They pretty much had to play prevent.
What the hell was Blache thinking rushing 3 guys toward the end of the half and at the end of the game?? The way the defense was playing this made no sense. We basically gave them 10 points.
Better question..How many sacks did we have yesterday and how many sacks do we have this year? Can we atleast brush against the QB? Why can't out D-Line ever get any pressure? The DE's just get pushed to the left or the right and straight back or forward.. The DTs get no penetration. Its like they are trying to form a perfect pocket for the opposing QB. |
