First of all props to the Skins for an amazing win. I wont lie, I put this down as a loss beforehand, but I continue to get excited about the Skins.

But lets take a deep breath and realize barely 1/4th of the season is completed. We have a LONG way to go.

The next three games(Rams, Browns, @ Lions) are very winnable, but we could loose games we need to win. honestly I am scared about the Rams, they could win if we sleep on them, and I dont think they are that bad. Also I am not ready to mark the Browns as bad club, and by that time they might put in Quinn to mix things up.

Also for all the people who see the glass as half empty, post in this thread and this thread alone.

Some things we need to improve on:
-Special teams(mainly growing pains with Brooks)
-leaving points on the field, honestly guys we can put up 40+ per week, but silly mistakes hurt us.
-Defense not lining up on time. We got burned on a play while we taking forever to get set.
-Rogers, catch the ball! Otherwise you are amazing
-I still think JC sometimes takes a bit too long to pass, and he stares down receivers at times.
I'll be honest with you. I put the Skins down to lose this game until Westbrook got hurt. Even when they said he will still play despite hurting, I didn't see the Eagles winning this game. Everybody in the world knows that the Eagles are tough with a healthy McNabb AND Westbrook.

With that said I think the Skins are playing great football right now. If I were a Skins fan, I would enjoy being 4-1. I know I'm enjoying Dallas being 4-1 right now. This is the NFL, and wins are hard to come by.

Re: Let's not get ahead of ourselves

I always try to be cautiously optimistic, especially since the Skins have had limited success since the glory years of Gibbs 1.0. However, in watching the game yesterday, after Jackson returned the punt for a TD, I wasn't worried. In years' past, I would have thrown the remote across the room, cursed in several languages, and just been in a bad mood the rest of the game. But I took it in stride. And they started to chip away...and then they hit the Eagles in the mouth with a Portis-right and a Cooley-left.

I think the two biggest things to take away from this start is the halftime adjustments Zorn and the staff are making, and the late aggressiveness Zorn has in his play-calling. He's proving that he's not afraid to make the gamble, believing that his team will back him up win or lose. And I honestly think the players are buying into it hook, line and sinker.

The next 3 games are the catalyst for this team. Three extremely winnable games, but also three games that they can squander just as easily. The Rams, Lions and Browns have nothing to lose, and because of that, can be very dangerous. I'm optimistic about the Skins winning all 3, but I'm cautious that the Skins need to continue to play smash-mouth football like they have been playing. Let up, and you could see a turn for the worse...
