Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting

Since I have called for the abolition of the Pro Bowl for about 10 years now, I can't get myself exercised about who gets in and who does not. I would not attend the game unless you paid me my hourly consulting rate to go to it. I'd be happy to get an all-expense paid trip to Hawaii in February, but you could not get me to that silly game at gunpoint.

Here is what I think is FAR more important...

As of today, the Washington Redskins have the same record as the Dallas Cowboys.

I want to have the Skins make the playoffs and have only one person on their whole squad make the Pro Bowl while the Cowboys miss the playoffs and still have 13 of their players named to the game.

The Pro Bowl is irrelevant. It does not matter.

Playoffs are where we need to focus attention and interest.
I'm all for Redskins players being in the Pro Bowl, so long as they deserve it. Guys like London Fletcher, C-Po, Santana Moss, and them deserve it. People on other teams are trying to get recognized too, and it's not fair to no recognize them due to homerism.
I agree. And being able to vote multiple times reminds me of the shady voting practices that robbed Chief Zee of his trophy last summer.

John Riggins has made the exact argument for years...as he said once on Redskin Report, "Why in the hell risk injury in a useless game."
I think four Skins will get in.

Portis
Fletch
Rogers
Campbell

***Horton as first team alternate***
Something hilarious is that we have about 17 players right now leading the league in voting. If we keep it up, it's going to be hilarious.

I voted for every Redskins player because last year Cowboys players that didnt deserve it went to the Pro Bowl, so we have to stick up for our guys!

Though its hilarious that our punter, who was recently signed...is leading in votes for punters by a large margin

This was one of the topics on around the Horn today. Redskin fans stuffing the ballot box(to say).It was pointed out that the other 2 thirds of the voters actually carry more weight and the fan alone ...DOES NOT decide who go's.
Personally I dont see anything wrong in voting for your Skins. Again, as mentioned, it's only weighted as 1/3
Are Skins fans doing anything all other fans are not doing?

Who cares about the Pro Bowl? I'd rather see 22 Giants starting in the Super Bowl.

Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting

Personally, In no way does Andre Carter deserve to go to the pro bowl. He has sacked the QB once on his own! Guys like Ware and Tuck have 11 at this point in the season! I'm guilty of voting for him but I was under the impression he was gonna get into a rhythm and light some qb's up. I was wrong. Now if he has 2 sacks in each of the remaining 6 games, then he should go! And the fact that Springs is leading the votes for corner is a BLEEPING Joke! He has started 3 games this season and has 12 tackles WOW. The whole vote the redskins ticket was fun at first, but this is a little absurd.

Re: Redskins Dominating in Pro Bowl Voting

I think this being blown out of proportion a bit. So Redskins fans are voting for their own, big shocker. Ultimately the fan vote counts for 1/3, so the coaches and players votes are more significant. Don't count on seeing a Redskins Pro Bowl team in February. Relax.
