And put one of those "roofs" on it. The one that RFK had! Its get cold up there in the nose bleeds especially when its raining on you. And it gets quiet up there too. Putting a partial roof on it would be awesome!
As far as moving back to DC. Heck, I'd sign the petition! There is nothing worse in this world than having to drive through my city to get to the game...............or go across that GOSH DANG bridge! I freakin hate that bridge! Woodrow Wilson was by far the worst President this country has ever seen!!!! He builds a DRAW bridge on MAJOR MAJOR MAJOR HIGHWAY!!!! Not only that, but he builds it close to the water so people try to fish off of it! And as if all that wasn't enough...................He doesn't build a shoulder on it so some BUTTHEAD can decide to pull over, BLOCK THE LANE, and then act like he's going to jump. All of that just to get a "hug" by police officers. I can go on and on................... So yeah! Putting the stadium back in the city...............I'm all for it!
Yeah the bridge is annoying...but you're being sarcastic here right? Please tell me you are. Or do you think Robert F Kennedy built RFK Stadium, John F. Kennedy built Kennedy Space Center, Ronald Reagan built Reagan National Airport? |
Re: Petition to Move Redskins back to Washington DC.
The biggest problem with allowing Danny to build a new stadium is that he'd probably want to give it a 100,000+ person capacity. If this year has proven anything it's that we're not good at filling up our own stadium with Redskins fans when the team is average at best.
Can you imagine how many more Steelers fans would have been at that Monday Night Game if the stadium could hold an additional 10 or 20,000 people? |
Re: Petition to Move Redskins back to Washington DC.
I think Jerry Jones having a new state of the art stadium will have Danny itching to follow suit very soon.

Re: Petition to Move Redskins back to Washington DC.
I am against a new stadium of any kind! For one I already come from NJ and it will make my commute longer...especially having to get in and out of DC. FedEx is actually convieniently located along the Beltway. Second and most important a new stadium will come with PSL's and higher ticket prices. I could see non season ticket holders wanting a new stadium in DC but I don't see how a new stadium benefits season ticket holders at all.

Of course I'm being sarcastic. But, only to a certain extent! That bridge has woodrow wilson's name on it! So its still his fault! :) Hey! Did you hear how they destroyed the old one? They had a contest. All you had to do was write down your worse story about driving over that GOSH DANG bridge. If you won the contest....................You weren't given money or prizes. You were given a detonator! And you had the great honor of blowing the crap out of THAT GOSH DANG BRIDGE!!!:headbange Until the new one gets completed we're still going to have problems, but at least that old one is gone! |

LOL...........:food-smil How many times a year does this thread get started anyway?Snyder right now does not have the money to build his own new stadium, just check out Six flags. His(Cooks) agreement with PG county has at least another 10 years on it and to get out of it will cost a fortune.Yes I foresee the Skins moving back but not for a long time. The Giants and Jets are slitting the cost of their new stadium and it's still almost 2 billion, just how much will it be in 10 years?Oh, and what will you do with the old one? |

I feel your pain , the Giants fans are going through the same thing now! |

Right, I live in North Jersey so that has a lot to do with where I am coming from. My wifes uncle had season tickets for most his life but had to give them up because they wanted a 20K lisence per ticket. My tickets are upstairs so a Redskins PSL would most likely not be that much for me, but anything is too much on top of the $2000 a year I already spend. FedEx Field is fine for me...why do I care how nice the stadium is or if it's in DC? Those who want a new stadium in DC ask yourself if Danny called and wanted you to pay him thousands of dollars to make it happen would you still want the stadium? I as one who would be asked do not... |

Can you imagine how many more Steelers fans would have been at that Monday Night Game if the stadium could hold an additional 10 or 20,000 people?
Well if you watched the Ravens game last week they had alot of Skins fans in the stadium. They did not stand out as much as the steeler fans did at our game but I'd say we had well over 10% in their stadium. It was real clear when Cooley caught his first catch and you heard real clear Cooooleeey on the TV. When I watched Dallas play the Cards back at the begining of the year for the first 1/4 I thought it was at Dallas. Then I noticed that the field was covered in Cards stuff and it was at their stadium. Its tough to fill a large stadium no matter what team you are and I also think Skins fans picked other games to attend because Sunday night games can be tough if you have to work the following day. So the Steeler fans took advantage of that by buy up a bunch of tickets. |
Re: Petition to Move Redskins back to Washington DC.
I am a Maryland resident, have season tickets to Redskins games and I hate FedEx Field. The team belongs in D.C. Anything that gets them back in D.C., short of a massive earthquake, is fine with me.

Re: Petition to Move Redskins back to Washington DC.
Sure, the WASHINGTON redskins belong in WASHINGTON - but, I actually like FedEx. The large parking lots surrounding the stadium create a great gameday atmosphere. Getting in and out is not too bad, and 92,000 seats is always a plus. I'm not saying this just because I live in Maryland either, I'd probably be saying this if I lived in Mexico.

Okay...and assuming the pricing were similar to the giants it would be worth it to you to pay a $1000 to $20,000 per ticket PSL in addition to higher ticket prices so that the Redskins play in DC? |

Heck! I'd pay an extra grand just for big jombo trons to be put in the biggest stadium in the NFL! You've been to Fed Ex! You have to squint your freaking eyes just to see what the heck they're showing! Thats why they don't show those replays of "fumbles" or out of bounds catches or "was he down" because you can't see it any darn way so why bother! And bringing the skins back to the city so I can get hammered at the game and then take an affordable taxi back home makes it worth it right there! I mean, have you ever tried to take a Maryland cab into Virginia? They don't even know what exit you're talking about! They don't even know what the "mixing bowl" is!!!! Don't get me wrong, Fed Ex Field is nice. I've had some really good memories there, but the Washington Redskins belong in Washington DC. |
Re: Petition to Move Redskins back to Washington DC.
There is no way DS is going to spend his own jack for a new stadium especially considering the fact that the city built/paid for a stadium for the Nationals. With the economy the way it is I doubt DC council/resdents will be willing to pony up the $ for a new stadium. Besides, why would DS want to move? I doubt he cares whether they play in DC, MD, or VA.
As for a roof on FedEx. I recall reading a bunch of articles saying how DS has looked at various ways to get a roof on FedEx but the costs are so outrageous it just not economically viable. |
