Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
It amazes me how anyone can think we're going to beat Philly and SF. Both are playing better than we are. Philly just beat NY at NY. This week is going to be a total struggle against Cinn and I would not be shocked if we lose.
Skins 16 Cinn 13
It's debatable how well the Niners are playing right now, but exactly one week after the Cowboys eeked out a win against us in the 4th Quarter, they beat the 49ers by 16 points. So, I'd say they are probably not playing better than we have been. I do think they are capable of beating us though. Normally, I'd be scared of a Cincinnati team that historically plays the NFC East VERY tough, but I think they are catching us at a really bad time from an emotional standpoint. We have a lot to prove with Heyer and Fabini at the tackles, and they don't have a nose tackle who can move Rabach all over the place, which is a must have if you want to stop the Redskins offense. Philly is another story, but like I said, one win over a bad team and the ridiculously inaccurate pessimism on this site becomes ridiculously inaccurate optimism. I don't think you will in any way be part of this trend, but you have to agree with me that it exists, right?? |

When a team scores 10 points a game there is no way you can say we'll beat anyone. We should beat Cinn but it won't surprise me if we lose. I would be willing to bet that we split Philly and SF. So we'll end up 9-7 or 8-8. Not good enough to get in the playoffs. |

Also, this game is going to be the 5th game this year we will play against a solidly inferior team, and you have to think at some point, we're going to run into a poor effort from their defenses. I mean, you look at the Rams, Browns, Lions, and Seahawks, and every one of those defenses (especially the first two) played our offense harder and more aggressively than they've played most of the year. Is it safe to assume that the Bengals will do the same? Or do you think that there's a chance that their pass rush just totally mails it in and Campbell picks them to shreds? I think our offensive numbers would look a lot better this year if we didn't get such a great last-ditch season-saving defensive effort from the bad defenses we have played. I'm not saying we won't see more of the same from the Bengals, but I'm open to the possibility. |
Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
just wondering if all the drama this week will be a distraction and hurt our play this sunday or whether our play has been hurtin lately due to unspoken discontent that, now thats its been released and talked about, will free up the players to come out and re-focus on the task at hand.
i hope the players come out with a high intensity nasty streak and dont let any early stumbles keep them from giving a full 60 minutes. our play has been flat lately and i hope the reason for it was aired out and over with. im actually pretty excited to see how our guys and coaching staff responds, this kick in the butt might be exactly what we needed b/c if we continued down the path we were going there wasnt much to be optimistic about. man i wish this was a home game and we could give our boys some energy before kickoff. what the hell: shazaam hits a game winner in the last minute (im sure ill be wrong again) go skins!! |
Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
So, if we get an inspired effort from the Bengals D, I say we win 21-14. If they mail it in, I could see something like 31-12.

Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
We will win. I have no clue of the score though, I have been overly optimistic about the offense for this whole season, and I finally have to say 10-9 Redskins. It's been a rough week for us Skins fans. :(

Skins 16 Cinn 13
We were playing a lot better than the Rams when we lost to them...that's why they play the game |

They took NY to overtime, they tied Philly and very well could've beaten Dallas. We just lost Samuels and our line can't pass block. Their defense has to be licking their chops. This is not going to be a walk in the park. None of our games are. |

I feel ya CRR but I don't think you're being OVERLY optimistic. I think, just like me, you see the potential of this offense. It's just a matter of getting the system down, and getting our rookies up to speed. It's just not going to happen in the first year. Of course what I did'nt expect was such poor line play. I actually thought our line would be better this year with Jansen and Thomas back. Once the line problems are resolved and we have a little more time in Zorn's system, I expect a potent offense. Better than we've had in years. |
Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
Redskins win by 2 TDs.
Defense absolutely throttles the Bengals' offense. Skins' fans over-react and start talking Super Bowl in Feb 09 and Pro Bowl status of about 19 guys on the roster.
All three predicitions are correct...LOL. |
Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
Redskins win 17-13. Portis goes over the century mark, but the Bengals have a field day with Heyer and Fabini in pass protection.

Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
Skins win, everyone is all about the playoffs again, we get smashed by Philly next week, have a tough game with SF to close out the season, we all go on happily ever after:) .

Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
Skins 24-13 Bengals
|
Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
13-10 bengals. too much distractions this week for the skins, plus our OL is hurting!!!!!!!!!
|
Re: We Still Play This Sunday Against the Bengals
skins should win, we are the better team- yet I'm incredibly bearish the season outlook.
Bengals 17 Redskins 10 |
