Good group for sure, but Suggs will cost a fortune, along with Crowell. I say go via the draft and get say one FA for each line, maybe two. I am not privy on our cap situation, but any O linemen up for renewal should not be resigned.
You're right Suggs will cost a lot, but i'm not so sure that Crowell will be all that expensive since he missed this season with an injury. |
Heyer has really impressed me the past two games. I honestly dont think Tackle is as big of a need as i thought it was. We need another BACKUP tackle, but i'm fine with Heyer and Samuels as our starting tackles... i'd even consider starting heyer at LT and moving Samuels to RT. I'm also counting on Rinehart to be a good Guard for us. I think Thomas is only going downhill from here, and Rabach needs to be replaced. For our Oline, I would do the following upgrades THIS Offseason:
C Jason*Brown 4 6-3/320 OG Jahri*Evans 3 6-4/318 We would have a starting lineup of: Samuels-Evans-Brown-Rinehart-Heyer For our defense, I would do the following: OLB Michael*Boley 4 6-3/223 DT Albert*Haynesworth7 6-5/320
Heyer is a solid pass protector, but nowhere close to what you need in run blocking. Notice that our running game got shut out the last couple of games. |

Well if Heyer can't get it done as a starter, then we need to move Samuels to RT now and sign the best FA LT on the market or get one in the draft. I really think Samuels is going to drop off in production real soon. |

Re: A 2009 Spring Dream....
Paging Terrance Cody. Terrance Cody please report to Ashburn.
Anyway my 2009 Spring Dream would probably be Bart Scott, Terrance Cody, a 3rd round center, and Jordan Gross.
Terrance Cody is going to be a 2010 Spring Dream. He's already announced he's returning to Alabama next fall. |
Re: A 2009 Spring Dream....
Samuels is too valuable at LT, it would be easier to find a new starter at RT than at LT.

And my Hokies open the season v. the crimson tide. Cody would help me in a couple ways if he'd enter the draft! |

Frankly BC's entire defense was really impressive this year. |

Although his stats look very well he was not happy cause he was not allowed to roam around and be the playmaker he was in Chicago. That changed the last few years he was here as Ritchie unleashed him a bit more but it was tough at first. And I didn't say he struggled, I'm saying just cause a free agent is talented doesn't mean he can just come in and fit our scheme and I used Marshall as an example. |
Re: A 2009 Spring Dream....
Im begining to think Haynesworth is more of a system player after Jason Jones starting in his place an got 3.5 sacks.
