I say find another position for our current OC and bring in Dennison. Then we have to get crafty with getting rid of Hixon and bringing in Christensen from the Colts. Talk about having a team with coaching talent. !!!

Zorn's pressure just got ratcheted up a couple notches. Can you imagine Shanahan, Holmgren and Cowher available next offseason? Snyder is probably trembling in anticipation to make the change!

Dude this is a dream right?
We need to raid their entire coaching staff!
Right their ripe for the plucking an entire staff top to bottom that ran one of
the most explosive WCOs in the league.
Dude, we should make everyone on his staff an offer.

Re: Shanahan out in Denver

Anyone else see the the Broncos as the Anti-Redskins? lol

* LOST that glorious Super Bowl to us (with a #17 at the helm!)

* Long-Term Coach (no need to explain the opposite here)

* Above Average Offense (Redskins - Above Average Defense)

* Terrible Defense (Redskins - Terrible Offense)

* Terrible Division - AFC West (Redskins - one of toughest divisions - NFC East)

It's kinda funny he's getting canned... the other night as I watched their game I thought... Imagine if there was the "Bronskins" or "Redscos" where our defense is teamed with their offense...

Super Bowl contender!!

By the way... Zorn recently said that he didn't think he was over his head doing 3 jobs and plans to remain QB coach (with help from Meidt), OC (with help from S Smith) and HC... maybe a new receiver coach, and maybe Buges hangs it up though...

Re: Shanahan out in Denver

The Broncos defense has been gashed all year, and with Shanahan in full control of personnel, the blame had to go somewhere. Looks like the Broncos' offense has a formidable trio of players with Cutler, Royal, and Marshall though.

He won't have trouble finding another job. I could see him in Kansas City if their new front office is done with Herman Edwards.

Man, you're not kidding. This would be an entirely new level of restraint from Lil' Danny if he can resist the urge.

There's already a thread on ExtremeSkins (I got desperate while WP was down) saying that we should fire Zorn and hire Shanahan.
No Way!!! He's been there forever! I know he hasn't been winning to many games lately, but the talent that he has is a good reason why. I mean, his linebacker corps just SUCKS! Its worse then Detroit's! He hasn't had a Running back since Clinton Portis left and he's only just gotten a quarterback in Jay Cutler!

If this is true, Denver is dumb................................and I did not see it coming!
Yeah well he's the one that makes personnel decisions... errr, made

King Speculator AKA Dr. Rumor Monger AKA Mike Florio of PFT posted this nugget a little while ago. I wouldn't put much into it yet, but still interesting.

The immediate speculation in some league circles when word broke of the termination of long-time Broncos coach Mike Shanahan is that Shanahan has something else cooking, and that he forced his firing by refusing to agree to changes that owner Pat Bowlen wants to make.
According to Jeff Legwold of the Rocky Mountain News, part of that speculation is right on the money.
Per Legwold, Shanahan was fired because he refused to fire defensive coordinator Bob Slowik, whose unit surrendered 52 points in a Week Seventeen loss to the Chargers.
Said Bowlen, in a release issued by the team: “After giving this careful consideration, I have concluded that a change in our football operations is in the best interests of the Denver Broncos. This is certainly a difficult decision, but one that I feel must be made and which will ultimately be in the best interests of all concerned.
“I appreciate the 21 years that Mike Shanahan has given to the organization as an assistant and head coach, and the two Super Bowl wins in that time. His contributions hold a special place in Broncos history.”
So if Shanahan wanted to get out of town because he has something else cooking, what might it be?
Believe it or not, there’s speculation that Shanahan is trying to position himself for the Chargers job.
What’s that, you say? The Chargers are in the playoffs and they’ve made it clear that Norv Turner is coming back as head coach?
That was our reaction, too. But a highly-placed league source suspects that something is happening with Shanahan and San Diego.
In our book, it’s almost as unlikely as Shanahan coaching the Raiders. But we’ll continue to keep our eyes peeled on this one.
