And don't be "shocked" if we trade Portis, he is almost 28 and you can find solid RB's in the draft... (Kno'Shawn Moreno) Guys like that... I love portis but it's not like he puts up HUGE numbers every season, he can be replaced.
If we didn't knock on Portis's door every offseason and ask him to sign a new contract, so we can get under the salary cap, and then pay him a new signing bonus we might have been able to move him.

...being that we're handcuffed to him like Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler Bulletproof-style, we're moving him anytime soon. Also I hear that Dan Snyder has a close relationship with him.

BTW, I like Portis and don't want to see him go. I wouldn't mind a change-up back though in the draft. IMO Portis has trained to develop a running style that would make his career last despite his OL. If you notice he doesn't do any juking right before contact like he used to in '04. I think he has his longevity in mind, which I don't fault him for.

I understand what everyone is saying, but Portis is just about as bad as T.O. in the "chemistry" department!

Not quite. On the field Portis does his job and doesn't mouth off or show anyone up. TO is constantly trying to be the center of attention, he complains about not getting enough passes his way, he says Romo plays favorites with Witten, and never takes any blame, etc.

What do you call the "sulking and pitty" faces vs. the Lions and Ravens?

So facial expressions are on par with calling out your teammates or throwing a fit on the sidelines?

Trust me, I am not saying Portis is as bad as T.O. (not even close), but enough is enough with this guy. Every year it is always something. People say well "Portis is tough and a great blocker. He just wants to win!" T.O. just wants to win too, but we all criticize him. He just doesn't do the correct way. What's the difference if it is done on the field or on the John Thompson Show?

people can knock Portis all they want, but i know three things:

1. Portis gives 100% on Sundays. Players notice that, and it should motivate them to give 100% as well.
2. Portis may lack discretion, but he has never said anything on the JT Show thats not true. Alot of what he said, really NEEDED to be said, whether he was the right person to do it or not.
3. The Redskins are a MUCH better team with Portis than without him. He is the best all-around back in the NFL right now.
Trade Portis and Moss and try to get TJ from Cincy.
And how is TJ any more effective than Moss when there isn't anyone that scares opposing defenses at the other WR spot? Cincy has 2 legit speed demons (Chad Johnson & Chris Henry) that stretch the field and make TJ's role as a posession receiver much, much easier. I definitely don't see TJ as a #1 receiver. He would be a downgrade from Moss in that role.

First, let me clarify something before I post. I am an avid Redskins fan! Let's try to be a football mind and not a homer! Are you saying that T.O. doesn't give 100% on Sundays? Stuff that Portis said on the air should NEVER be said whether it is true or not! And I cannot even comment on Portis being the best all-around back in the NFL!!!!!!!!!!

I think Portis has more potential to disturb the team with what he's doing on the show than what TO is doing or saying. But the two can not be compared. They both give 100% anyone argue with that is not a fan of football but only a Redskin fan

Not Shocking: CP's Mamma kick'in the crap out of Vinnie if trade rumors surface.
he has no touch but could develop into a top notch second stringer IF we are patient with him

I don't see anyone questioning T.O.'s effort on the field. The debate is over who is a bigger distraction/cancer. T.O. or Portis. I think the answer is pretty clear.

Owens doesnt give 100% on Sundays anymore. Its known that he's started to give up on routes. He also complained that he didnt get enough balls when over 50% of the plays were designed to go to him. Portis has complained, but his complaints have been accurate. Also, Portis has never come CLOSE to TO when it comes to the level of his complaining.

If you can name me a running back who is as good as Portis is running the ball, catching the ball, AND PASS-BLOCKING, i'd like to see it. There are definitely better running backs for the first two i mentioned, but not the last one. There is not a single 1000yard back in the league who is as good in pass protection as portis. Not one.

I dont think its as clear as you want it to be. TO does say stupid stuff about team mates but if memory serves, CP publically threw his O line under the bus earlier in the season. He also tries to publically undermine the head coach's authority (I dont recall TO doing that but I might have missed the quote) which IMO is much worse. Of course CP knows he can do this because he knows he's DS's favorite and can say/do what he wants (which also cant be good for locker room morale).

Listening to CP and observing the way others react to him, I would (carefully) venture to say he is just not very bright and maybe very dumb so that his colleagues give him a fair bit of grace in all his stupidity. Not sure the same can be said of TO on either point - he seems pretty sharp and people tend to "react" to what he says whereas I don't think CP gets much reaction... kind of reminds me how the slow kids were treated in school... just let em be.
